Well you have to realise that PS3 is such a huge failure compared to what Sony and it's fans had expected. Wasn't there an Exec that said they could sell 10 millionPS3's without games?

I also don't hope the PS3 dies because I love my PS2 and competition is good for us gamers. I'm just willing to accept reality that is put before me.

So basically the only game you like is Halo?

of course there will be a PS4. sony are hardly going to chuck in the towel, sack all there devs and abandon the PS brand simply because one of their consoles is having problems with some serious competition. now PS4 might be different from what we might expect (well it will be games console obhiously...but they might not be as ambitious with the hardware and might focus on making life easier for devs and such like) and sony will probably rethink their strategy a fair bit but there will most definately be a PS4.

now if the PS4 does even worse than the PS3 over its life (assuming the PS3 stays in 3rd place...which is a big assumption to make at the mo it has to be said) then sony might be thinking of a completly different approach and might do a nintendo for the PS5. if thats a disaster then they might...MIGHT....throw in the towel. but thats an awful long way away and anything can happen.

a company doesent throw in the towel after 1 disaster....thats stupid business practice. sony have many millions tied up in their games departments. to just chuck it in after 1 problem.....not a good idea. MS have a 3 strikes rule...if a product is going nowhere after its 3rd iteration then its scrapped but they will usually give it 3 shots to see if they can make something of it, especially if its showing promise.
