American.
A lot of good games come out of Japan, but I find that some Japanese developers are just stuck in the past design-wise, and often seem to value their "vision" of what a player's experience should be over actual convenience and playability.
Japanese. Because most of my favorite developers are Japanese I also like developers from other regions.
European (GTA/Timesplitters/Crysis/Burnout) and Japanese (Mario/Sonic/DMC/Resident Evil)
They rule :)

They just don't make serious RPGs(or any games that make it to the west) that have a impact (IDK what word to use) on a gamer like Mass Effect, Stalker, Witcher, etc.

I can't even name a single great game from Europe.... most games come from the USA
GTA??? I seriously thought they were Canadian. Speaking of which, change America to North America.I prefer Japanese games since I'm pretty much the stereotypical otaku :P
If you want a reference as to what I mean by that, my personality is a lot like Konata Izumi from the anime, Lucky Star.

Japanese >>>>>>>>>> European >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> American But there are exceptions here and there of course.abuabedThat makes zero sense when NA=Europe when it comes to gaming.
90% of the games I own are Japanese. Western games just generally don't appeal to me and their art direction tends to make everyone look ugly.
But I plan to get Uncharted 2, for a change.

If you're talking about the anime/manga art sty1e then.. The eyes honestly aren't big for the body proportions, anyways, any weirdness it has is gone after a very short while.

It's really j ust the evolution of western cartoon designs from the early 20th century. ._.; ... In Japan.

Fellow westerners must have some sort of warped gender concept. :/
[QUOTE="SparkyProtocol"][QUOTE="fenwickhotmail"] Grammar nazi!!Cherokee_JackA Grammar Nazi that throws slang at you. >_> Fail Grammar Nazi is fail. Slang and an omitted comma in one sentence. Fail, indeed. I noticed the omitted comma. There should have been one after Japanese, but I couldn't be bothered editing my comment just to rectify that tiny error. And I assume you think "mate" is slang. It isn't. It's informal language, which I always use here.

I'm just going to use this image from a manga, because the guy is feminine.

He looks like gay aladdin. He's not "effeminate," but he does look pretty gay.
The biggest problem with Vaan is his in-game upside down abs.
Edit: It's important to note that his pose has a lot to do with it. In game he just seems like a regular (annoying) young boy archetype. Sadly, he never amounts to any more than that.

Those are all stereotypes, once you've played more then 50 JRPGs and watched/read over 50 anime/manga you might have a right to say that.
But now, you don't know anything about the genre/art sty1e.

I will blame who ever started this "make boys look like girly homosexuasl" look. (I am not in any way trying to offend the homosexuals out there) Alot of people try to counter attack by saying "Oh yeah! All of the women look like men in WRPGs!"... What are they talking about? Please Log In to post.
