Polygon GTA V review - 7/10

Here, this is the general gist of what happened. I'll copy paste it here and also post the original link

Yesterday, Polygon posted their review of SimCity and gave it a score of 9.5. The game was reviewed using the pre-release servers that EA had set up for advance copies. A lot of outlets chose to wait for the live servers to launch to publish their reviews but Polygon and some notable others didn't. Penny Arcade's Ben Kuchera wrote an article saying that readers shouldn't trust any SimCity review that goes up before knowing what the live servers would be.

Lo and behold, the live servers went up and the result has been mostly a disaster. Some people have been unable to get into the game at all, while others can only get in sporadically. So, just hours after its original review was published, Polygon revised the review and dropped SimCity's score from 9.5 to 8.

There's a lot of ways to view this. On one hand, Polygon should probably be commended by revising the review and trying to provide the most accurate view possible. On the other hand, one could argue that this could have been avoided by simply waiting an extra day to publish the review. What does Polygon say to those people who bought the game thinking it was a 9.5, only to find out a few hours later that it's actually an 8? It's a interesting precedent being set here and one that I'm not all that sure I'm behind. What say you, Giant Bomb?

UPDATE: After continuing server instability over the last few days, Polygon has once again dropped the review score, now down to a 4.

I don't care about the supposedly offensive stuff, and I couldn't care less about how woman are portrayed in the game, this is not a woman rights movement game. What I do care about is gameplay. GTA4 gameplay was beyond horrible, and this review highlights some of those issues as well.

What the f*ck is the world tendency now to turn everything in gay. What the f*ck is this all ? A gay and feminazis crusade again ? What f*cking gays and women representation they want ? There are only 4% of gays in the world, and why would I want to play as woman when the main audience of GTA is men. And where did you see hard criminals being respectful to women ? F*ck this article.

Polygon is sh*t anyway they seem not to view games as Just games and think they should be catalyst for social change or whatever.

It would be really funny if polygon gave GTA V something even lower than a 7/10.

Let me translate for you people the review says " I'm a butthurt liberal douchebag, that has to dump on anything that doesn't fit my own personal, societal views ".

He wants a female lead character or a gay one.... Wait... I thought we were all equal. If you really believe that, then it wouldn't matter if one of the 3 characters were a woman or not... or gay or not.

By claiming that we need Franklin to be gay... or to replace Michael with a woman... or whatever is to say we are not equal.

LOL at a reviewer upset by GTA being rude and/or crude.

EDIT* Just read the last bit of the "review"... LOL SO FAKE... no professional writer would create something with so much obvious fanboyism.

If you are coming into GTAV or any GTA game expecting a representation of womens rights, you are doing it wrong.

i'm pretty sure i won't be too upset over the lack of male hookers.
