Now, I thought Nintendo said the Wiimote was superior to the traditional pad? If so why does PoP play better on the controllers of the Xbox,PS2, and GC which each scored a 8.8 there? Well mario boys, save yourself the money and get the GC version to play on your Wii I guess. So much for this controller actually changing the way we play games, Oh wait it is changing gaming....by making it worse.

Thread continues. Nintendo said the Wii and its controlling abilities were so easy to develop for that a 4 year old could make a masterpiece using Wii hardware. The lack of a second analog stick will hurt the Wii in the long run because of the importance of "camera control". The game was hurt by the lack of camera control, which is neccessary in a 3-D action adventure platformer.

So much for the Wiimote being superior to traditional controls as they claim. The same thing happend with TP for Wii, lack of camera control hurt it.

What Nintendo says has no bearing on the job a developer does on their own games. Then again, I don't think you're the type to listen to reason.

No one hyped this game?? 7.1 seems is WAY higher then I expected it to get. Ubisoft is the worst developer for the Wii right now, just giving us ports with tacked on Wii controls. Don't try to use Ubisoft's ports for ownage.

I expected more like a 5.5 so that's better than I expected assuming the gamespot review isn't terribly far off

Ill say it again, its pushing Wii sales and they couldnt be happier. Pfft, who wants System Shock 2, Bioshock, Psychonauts, GTR, Forza, Panzer Dragoon, Shenmue? I was quite confident the idiotic casual trend would be diminished further this gen, but Nintendo are here to bring it back and they are capitalising on it.

Um, have you been paying any attention? Rival Swords has become an anti-Ubisoft rallying point. A port of a game that's over a year old and was only good when it came out with controls tacked on in ways that seemed totally unintuitive and at full price? Hah! I'm amazed it got over a 7, even at IGN.

So, by that note you don't think they could've implemented it better? Your expansive thinking towards such a game is quite remarkable if your that quick to dismiss it and the manner your doing it at.

But then again, who in the right mind would buy a Wii. The games are all strictly average yet its selling out like crazy. Dumb casuals do not realise this, they think Red Steel is awesome so they snap up a Wii for it whereas games like RE6 Vegas rot. This is seriously worrying.

The point of this thread was to show the hypocritism of Nintendo, not to own anyone. They claimed for months that a revolution will happen in the way we control games and yet so far there is nothing on it that cant be done without a traditional controller.

Wii Sports wouldn't be as fun without the Wiimote, and you just need to give Nintendo and other devs time to make some truly unique games.

I remember back in E3 05 they said that the Wii was for gaming and nothing else. What do they do, they try to make their pathetic online capabilities slightly better by adding crap like Mii and Weather reports. Yeah, games and games only.

A tennis game where you cant control your own movements is not fun. Image how difficult it will be to play a real tennis sim on the Wii. First you have to hold the nunchuck and move the analog stick and swing the remote which can be disorentinig for players. Thats why they made the characters move on their own. I had more fun with Mario Power Tennis because I could move my player and still be capable of hitting the ball.

Nintendo and devs had more than enough time. Remember when the GC hit stores, there was already a masterpiece in Star Wars Rouge Squadron 2 and Factor 5 didnt need that extra time, so no excuse there.

At the same time, Sheep are people who claim that the evolution of games was purely due to Nintendo and hardware has no involvement in it. I really doubt that the evolution from Pong to GeOW was hardly due to hardware, but then again, they will claim GeOW can be done on the Atari just with worse graphics...

Nintendo and thier new direction

Sheep lap it up like breast milk

Just face the reality sheep. Nintendo + Wiimote = simple quirky pick up & play games ONLY

Sheep want 3rd party support? There it is and there's more to come in the form of:

  1. Quirky games for casuals
  2. half-ss ports from other 3rd parties

Maybe not to you, but it is to me, and a lot of my friends. They made it move for you so that it would stay simple. If moving with the analog stick and flicking your wrist is disorienting then you are horribly uncordinated. Plus it'd only be hard for you sine you've never done it before.

The thing is though devs still aren't used to making games for the Wii-mote. They are so used to developing for a normal controller that when they are given something new they have a hard time figuring out a control scheme that works. Just give it time..

Here is a hint, Wii Sports wouldnt even be touched if it wasnt for the controller. Try using a game we would touch if it was with a standard controller, then talk about how the Wiiremote improves the game. This is how the Wii wins over the gamer.

Ninten007, Oemenia and ps3-nikita... I don't get it. Did the Wii make this game? Didn't Madden 07 help you even a little? I wonder if you could even come up with a better solution to the posed problem. More than likely you've already made your mind up and ran out of ideas.

Give it time? That's exactly what I said after reading EGM's December 2001 issue, Xbox vs GC. They said Perfect Dark 0 was slated for the GC, as an exlcusive title. I waited and waited, then MS bought Rare.

I wanted more GC games that are at least in league with MP2, SW Rogue Sqadron 2 & 3, and RE4....they NEVER came

[QUOTE="starwarsgeek112"][QUOTE="Ninten007"]The point of this thread was to show the hypocritism of Nintendo, not to own anyone. They claimed for months that a revolution will happen in the way we control games and yet so far there is nothing on it that cant be done without a traditional controller. KingsofQueens

Wii Sports wouldn't be as fun without the Wiimote, and you just need to give Nintendo and other devs time to make some truly unique games.

Except the Wii has only been out for 4 months...it's not my fault your impatient. Anyways Super Paper Mario comes out next week, which will probably be one of the best Wii games out.

Also RE:UC and Nights are somewhat in the right direction. As well as RE4:Wiimote but that's a port. The Wii needs more quality complex games for the Core Gamers.Â
