Portal 2: which platform will be best? Xbox 360 vs PS3 vs PC

Last time the choice was pretty obvious based on whether you like PC or console gaming.

Now though, you can choose out of 3 major platforms.

Which one will you get? Why?

I'm getting the PS3 version because of free online and because I like playing on the couch

Btw checkout Portal Flash Version, it's awesome

PC for obvious reasons (better graphics and opimization, mods). But I'm getting it for 360 as I don't do PC gaming.

Im not exactly sure of the specifics i just remeber Gabe Newell came out on stage for the ps3 conference and said PS3 will be the best version on consoles.

Only thing I remember hearing was something about it being developed for PS3 and then ported to 360 instead of the usual vice versa for multiplats. Probably all that will mean, I'm guessing. Oh well, still gonna get it for 360 when I do buy it. I hate the PS3 controller for FPS games. Would love to get some kind of converter for 360 to PS3. But then I would probably lose my wireless controller lol. Oh well I'll just have to suck it up for KZ3 and R3.

Valve always develops the PC version as the lead one. Besides, even if the game was carbon copy on every platform, Valve games are cheap to run hardware wise; which means most people can get the res/quality filters right up.

getting it for the ps3, i don't game on my computer, wanna build a killer rig someday though

If I recall correctly... Valve will be delivering their own updates to the game via Steamworks. This means, like with the PC version, they can patch the game and add new features as and when they see fit, without having to submit updates to Sony and wait for them to decide when or how to release the update. That means PS3 gamers will get the same benefits as PC gamers (instant regular updates, free additional features). This isn't being done on the 360.

This. I'm hoping we'll see this feature on other Valve games as well (especially Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 and Team Fortress). Microsoft needs a kick in the chops for charging for that content on top of us paying a fee to use Live...and PS3 gaining that advantage over the 360 would do just that.

I see. Thats good for PS3 and Pc gamers, but still not enough to make me not get it on the 360. Wish they would do that on 360, but I understand why they don't.

No. Nowhere did I even say that. I do not however play games on PC.I used to all the time. Quit for a while when I got a PS2, and went back and forth between the XBox and the PC until the 360 came out. Now I'm done with it. Going around a computer store grabbing up parts to build my brother a PC this week reminded me of why I stay the hell away from it. Aside from mods, I'm not missing much at all.

-Portal was made with the PC in mind, so it is adapted to the mouse and keyboard for controls. Now if you really prefer the console controllers for Portal, you could always get a gamepad, joypad, or w/e, although IMO mouse and keyboard are better for this type of game.

-Made by Valve so PC version will probably be the best optimized. Ports can have serious issues, especially at the beginning: E.g. GTA IV for the PC

When I was still generally buying games in stores, I tried to buy The Orange Box but none were available for PC, so I picked it up on the 360. I'm glad I did because I found it to be great on my HDTV, surround sound, and 360 controller. I know it's possible to go to the trouble of setting those things up for the PC, but I haven't come across a good enough reason yet. Maybe when the Witcher 2 comes out.

Actually, my impression of PC gaming is better than it used to be because I haven't been finding games crashing much at all with my new graphics card. Just wanted to point out that The Orange Box was great on the 360, including Portal.

PC is definately the best version.

I wonder what mods we will see.

There are already mods for Portal 1 which have many new levels and challenges.

just like masseffect2, the definitive version will be for the ps3. besides didnt that fat guy with glasses who is the dev said the ps3 will get the best version at e3. i trust what the dev said

PC, but most importantly, PS3 gamers will be able to pl;ay with the glorious PC master race. And They will be able to have to oppertunity to be shown their imperfect ways by the Gods of gaming.8)

J/K...... I bet teh PS3 version will be better than the 360 version. But PC will be the best hands down.
