i know that the cell is powerfull but handleling a game with this kind of graphics with 64 players online and evironment destruction is not possible.

You must know all about game developing then. theres an FPS coming to PC and 360 called huxley that supports up to 200 players (100 vs 100) do a little research. the PS3 is more than capable.

[QUOTE="jigglebilly1983"][QUOTE="Harbadakus"]Fake. Why would a Genji 2 producer know this anyway? They don't get to look at all games in production just because they develop on the same console.Hammerofjustice
Genji 2 = SCEJ, Killzone 2 = SCEA. Both Dev houses owned by Sony. you dont think people in teh same company talk to each other?

Killzone 2 is being developed in europe.

By sony. same difference.

As far as I know it's some sort of MMO shooter so a large number of players fighting seems feesable for a MMO game. I don't know if 100 vs 100 will work or even be done though but if it is that would be awesome.

This would be easier to take seriously if this wasn't the 10,000th PS3 game that was supposed to have the best graphics ever, only to fail to deliver.

If you search Huxley at the site, the first preview article talks about the game allowing 200 people to duke it out.

Look better than the CGI trailer? Mother of God...I've never heard such BS in my life.baddog121390
Too bad that wasn't CGI. It was real-time, but sped-up incredibly to make it look fluid (as in, if it was really playing, it would only be 2fps but they made it look like 30). I'll go out on a limb and say that it's likely that the Genji 2 producer has seen it. But I doubt 64 players online in a demo. But, Phil Harrison did say that he'd have more than one major announcement at GDC, so who knows!

No they don't, they are usually too busy making their games. :| As someone mentioned before, Corey Barlog hasn't seen KZ2 so why should some guy from Genji 2?

Nope it was confirmed CGI. Unless you have a link to prove otherwise that just isn't true.

[QUOTE="Led_poison"]Hoping they have some sort of Team system going along with that 64 player systemTyrantDragon55

Same here, 64 player free-for all would be completely rediculous.

No it wouldn't. 64 or 100 or 200 or 300 would be amazing just depending on the scale of the map and how it's done. Like some of the Maps in COD3 I have played with 12 on 12 is stupid but for other maps like Poissoin it's great

I'm surprised there's someone who still believes the trailer was 'real-time then sped-up'. It has been confirmed as CGI. Guerrilla first asked Blur to make the trailer, but they were too busy so they hired a company named Axis to make it, the only thing Guerrilla made for the trailer was the concept art and storyboards.

He was in the right place at the right time? maybe his friend is on the project? Corey barlog is a douche nozzle? take your pick. its not an impossible thing.  Also, as a student said proffession, and having been able to speak with prominent figures in game development, i can say for certain, that game designers talk to other game designers.

I've got some concrete KZ2 info... It's a sequel to a game that scored 6.9 here at GS and achieved the coveted A status at IGN. Please don't hype this game.

I thought it was running at 5fps on a pc, then sped up to 60, and then sent to Axis to be polished with all the fancy effects.

While i'm hoping for the best from Killzone (i actually enjoyed the first), it was running at only 5 fps without all the fancy effects. Sure they've had almost two years to get it running smoothly and add in nice effects and all, but will it be as good as the trailer? I hope, but i ain't placing any bets.

Gears and Motorstorm give me hope though. Games that good coming this early in the new generation, and Sony having spent over $20 million on KZ2 so far (and i'm sure that number has gone up a lot by now) and throwing 80 extra devs at the game to work along with the original 40 man team from Geurilla gives me a lot of hope that this game WILL look that good.
