Journey.
Demon's Souls.
LBP.
Comet Crash.
Infamous.
you dont know how to read, do you?
Hmmmm.
It says underrated game. You're right, I should have just picked one, my bad.
No. He said games that had no hype, no media cover, none knew about them and most people didnt play. Also no block buster type games. Demon Souls is AAAe GOTY of 2009, LBP won a ton of awarads and had a huge hype, Journey won tons of awards and also AAAe, Infamous was made by a well known dev and scored AAAe.
Another thing all those games you mention have in common is, that just about everyone has played those games/they sold really well.
Sorry that's wrong. He said huge hype and huge blockbusters, comparable to CoD or Skyrim. From the list, that would only apply to Infamous, which is debatable, at the most. Furthermore, being overrated is purely subjective, especially since the thread title asked for your most underrated game. Seems like I'm not the only one here having difficulty reading. If you can't handle my honest, completely truthful opinion on the thread, that's all on you.
Jesus Christ are you a moron or just have down syndrome?
There were other issues. The game modes at launch with no map rotation drove a lot of people off because SVER had a clear advantage in the bigger modes. They started rotating the maps too late. They needed the Escalation and Interdiction modes either at launch or very soon after.
Viva Pinata
Shitting on your personal game of the years since 2006.
Dammit, I need to find my copy of that game, I think my brother took it. I've been fiendin' for that game for months.
>Plays Zelda
>Loses Viva Pinata
Smh, your mother should be sending an apology letter to every single person in society.
It was the version with the sweet box too
That stupid game was fun!
Your title is grammatically incorrect. As it stands, to give an accurate answer, people would have to give the name of a game they themselves underrated.
But I know what you are asking, and the answer is easy... Tenchu Z was panned by critics, and I loved it. The sublime stealth kill mechanic got me hooked bigtime, and I was surprised when I eventually got the 1000 stealth kill achievement. The standard, non-stealth combat was a joke, but if you were relying on those mechanics, you are a poor ninja indeed.
When you consider the last generation, it depends on me. PS3 and 360 generation right now or anymore.the Bacon that is supported by is not going to walk yourself to smokers it in no time.A few years ago, I steel battalion and armoured Corps on ps3, xbox, wii, this is definitely of the demon Castle Dracula and chrome hounds and end did talk to gamers of all Mike gravy. So far this generation really photo Killzone respect, ryse also very good photos, zombie horror of my uncle's
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune or Red Dead Redemption
super meat boy
Those games are in no way, shape or form underrated.
it was for me...i didnt get into indie games until late 2012
Uncharted and RDR were for me. I mean they had a little bit of hype because of the developers being who they were, but both were relatively unknown when they were coming out and it was through good reviews and word of mouth that they grew in popularity.

To be fair, much like me... he could've preordered/imported Demon's Souls before there was any hype.
yup. I post this in nearly every underrated thread, as it's my favorite game of last gen, didn't receive much attention, and was created by Treasure..
I'd also like to add
The Sea Will Claim Everything
SpyParty
Ikenie No Yoru (Night of the Sacrifice)
The Dream Machine

Can't say i agree. Uncharted was developed by Naughty Dog, which even then was a powerful brand name because they made successful series of games on the PS1 & PS2, games that where and still are very well known. As for Red Dead, well, Rockstar.
But even putting aside the fact that Drake's Fortune and RDR where games that where created by massively well known companies. Both where extremely well received earning awards, selling millions of copies and are beloved by a vast number of people. Those aren't games that i would call underrated... I don't think it's fundamentally correct either to call such succesful games (by every def. of the word) underrated.

Idk why people keep saying SVER had an advantage, no they didn't. They were just a lot better players on the SVER side than on the other sides. The only better weapon the SVER side had was the RPG, do you know how accurate the weapons were for the Raven? and the low recoil of the valor? I used to pick up their weapons and go on killing sprees once i had my hand on one of those bad boys, and people from Valor were just plain Stupid quite often to be honest, and the best mad Valor had it.. it was sooo incredibly easy to defend it's not even funny.

Oh yeah... good old Viva Pinata. Good memories. Would love to play them again (too bad I don't have a 360 anymore :( )
Also Mafia 2 comes to mind as an underrated last gen game. Such a great story and characters.
Marvelous choice! I was gonna go with something else, but I like your pick better.
It also reminds me, haven't played Killing Floor in quite some time. I should really get back into it.
I haven't played it in a while either sadly.
Like said, I'm level 6 in everything, so inviting new people to play with me isn't an option, and playing with randoms isn't fun in a game that requires a lot of strategy, and da skillz.
There is an event going on now though.... Maybe I'll try it out tonight. I always do like the Christmas zeds, and the gorefasts shouting "DON'T EAT ME" as they're rushing towards you.

3 posts into this and you've already resorted to insults. tsk tsk. Not my fault you called me on my reading comprehension when it's you who seems to be failing at the comprehension part of it all. Like they never say, don't do the barking if you can't take the biting.

Aw, you haven't played it in a while either? I was just about to ask if there was still a good number of people playing it.
I haven't leveled up every class myself. Actually, I think the only one I have at level 6 is my berserker, mainly because it's my personal fav.
Yeah, gotta love their holiday themes. hehe

There's still a good amount of people who play. Right now it shows 3800 current players, and in the last year I've always seen the playerbase hover between 2000-4000. I've never had too much trouble finding a game.
I didn't get around to playing last night though. I'll try today if CS:GO doesn't grab hold of me as it usually does.
Sins of a Solar Empire. Its simply the best game that no one played.
SoaSE especially with trinity add on is great . Though is not exactly unknown game and it sold quite decently. Remembering Stardock saying it sold 500000 in 2008 and i imagine after all the expansions it must certainly hit 1million sales ( though it worth alot more sales )
For me a really underrated game is Cryostasis. The 69metacritic score quite low for that gem ( though gamespot review did it some justice ). Performance issues aside this game is a 9 in my opinion ( to bad the dev went out of business ). Everything from the atmosphere to graphics to story are great
Tough to choose just one.
I think I'd have to go with Cryostasis though, that game was like a Russian Bioshock that I personally enjoyed more than its American counterpart. Shame it ran like garbage though.
Others i'd nominate would be Natural Selection 2, the Risen games (in particular the second game) and Two Worlds 2
same. In fact i loved it so much despite running only between 20-30fps most of the time for me despite the settings i used i finished it and enjoy it much more than Bioshock
