Wii = 4490 in Mexico. That is the equivelant of $450
PS3 is $974 U.S currency which is more then double the 4490 that the Wii is.
Xbox 360 = $5199 Peso's
So really? What were you trying to pull? Since you were talking about Mexico and Peso's all platforms cost 5K.

So why pay 5K for a 360? Why pay a lot more then 5K for a PS3, why pay close to 5K for a Wii? Also I like how you choose a top of the line graphics card for the PC. You don't need the best graphics card out there to enjoy PC gaming. And if you do then realize that the 360 Elite costs $5,999 Pesos. Not to mention you would need an HDTV. I mean you are comparing max to max after all.
So in the end. What is really cheaper?

About $5500 for the 360.
So you paid about $8,500 Pesos's for your 360. Not to mention you need batteries for the 360 or some solution for Recharging them. You'll need to buy another subscription at the end of the year. And oh lol, god forbid your 360 RROD's *knocks on wood*

Yes I know. Xbox 360 is $1,200,000 in Columbia. I must be rich as hell to be able to afford a 360 :|
thats irrelevant, cause even if 360 were that in colomiba a gaming pc would be a lot more expensive
But PC gaming in Europe is cheaper then Console gaming in Europe. Not everything is uniform. Although PC gaming is also expensive you can't just say if 360 is more expensive in one place a gaming PC would be a lot more expensive. Such is not always the case.
U.S Currency
Xbox 360 Elite = $450
Gaming PC that can run CoD4, Crysis, and UT3 - $500
Thats not a huge price difference by any means.
FFS Blackbond stop trying to argue with him. It's pretty obvious he was saying due to the high cost of computers in South America, It would have cost him 4 to 5k. Yeah he didn't mention the currency, but he has now. Get over it dude and stay on topic.
I have CoD4 for the 36, and my mate has it for the PC, and the 360 runs it better. Though he doesn't have a top of the line comupter so he has it on Medium most of the time. He also hates the server browser, not a problem with the 360

Show me where he ever said the words South America if it was so obvious that he said high cost of computers in South America. Oh wait he never said South America. And he never specified Mexico or Peso's either until much later.
CoD4 runs better on the 360. So your mate can't run it better then your 360. But there are PC's out there that can out perform every 360 on the market. The same can't be said vice versa.

I have no doubt that dedicated, extremely fast servers are applenty for the PC version, but how do the console versions fare? Does the PS3 version have dedicated servers? I know TF2 on consoles is horrifically laggy, but it runs beautifully on most servers you find in the PC version.

The 360 doesn't support K&M and why should it. We play our consoles sitting on a couch, our headsets plug into the controller and we like rumble.
The K&M is superior, is an old and over done subject. It's all down to personal preference. It may well be more accurate, but what does it matter when all your adversaries have one :|
I also have had no lag problems on TF2, though my friend has got a really fast upload.

Gaming is our hobby. The cost of your PC or set up should be source for bragging rites, not a need to go on the defense.
PC's can be custom made for 1200 Euro's. My PC costed me even less. Like 800 euro's. And I can max out any game out in the market. (just please don't mention Crysis, I don't care about that game)
Q6600, HX520 watt PSU, P5B mobo, 2GB DDR2 667mhz, and my graphics card ATI HD 3850.
5k is ridiclous. Only way that is possible is if you buy a Intel Extreme processor... wich is manufactured specificly for rich people who like to bragabout their brand new PC.
I can link you a custom Graphics Chip made for editorial purposes and professional movie making wich costs OVER 15K yes 15.000 euros! Wich is equal to 22055 USD.
Or you can buy 4 of the same graphics cards... quadro crossfire ready motherboard. Jezus Christ... of course PC's will cost alot this way,
Just don't forget... You're not buying a plane! Just a gaming PC.
PC's are expensive yes... but not 5kdoesn't matterwhatever region you live in.

Mmmm... Im running the game maxed on a £550 PC.
I dont see why I should spend £300 + £40(live) + £40(game) + £60(wireless adapter)on aconsole to play NON-HD game with lack of mods and dogdy online systems.
Or £400 + £40 for a console to play a NON-HD game with a worser online system and questionable shader quality.
Maybe thats just me.
(specs for the £550 PC... E4400 C2D, 2GB's RAM, 8800GT, 320GB HDD + other non important componants.)
Im sorry if I seem a bit too angry at your post... but damn your iggnorance is of the scale.
Ok peopel I cant even remember what this thread was about errrr hang on.............Oh yeah!
well the PS3 doesn't have dedicated servers its P2Pthe same as the 360 version, but saying that Ive heard the PS3 online has a few problems compared to the 360, long waits in lobbies and constant connection problems but I do have to say this is only what Ive heard I have not actually played it but otherwise the games seem pretty much identical
boyinfridge
Thank you! finally. That's all i needed to hear. I can't stand playing p2p shooters. Perhaps i'm spoiled by years of CS and some TF2 recently. To me, a ping of over a 100 is very significantly different to a ping of 30 for an fps, so p2p doesn't fly with me. I guess it's settled for me...even if there is kb/m support for the ps3 version, i'll have to get it for pc.
How did this topic turn out this way?

What in the name of everything that is tangible are you talking about? Did i make an argument somewhere? I wask asking for advice. fool. I happen to play my console sitting on a stool with my computer next to it, and my kb/m right in front of me, hence why i would PREFER kb/m support. Yes it is better, putting aside inexplicable preferences, it is more accurate, and more intuitive, natural. Especially for anyone who knows what a PC cursor is. That seems to work as a general definition of better. Some people have preferences to things that are less accurate and intuitive, which i can understand.
Save maybe 3 people, NO ONE BROUGHT UP ANY DISCUSSION ON MY TOPIC. Not you, certainly. You went off on some tangent about why kb/m sucks. Do i care? no. You didn't make any valid points. And FYI, i paid 800 USD for my PC 2 yrs ago, and it will run CoD4 fine.
I also never asked if you had lag problems on TF2, since I know they exist, and are beyond what I can bare for an online shooter. Maybe you can deal with it, but I can't. Notice how I asked if the PS3 version had dedicated servers or not.
