Nothing less than a 9.5
Half life series=awesome and we get 3 of them
TF2=Best MP ever made, so much fun
Portal: Bound to be a great mind bending puzzle game.
I wouldn't be suprised with a 10 due to the value you are getting and the quality of games in the orange box, but i'm not counting on it.
[QUOTE="mikemil828"]All I can say is if the OB gets a 10 all the halo fanboys are owned.nivet14How?
Because the halo fanboys have been for years dissing Half-Life say its a lousy game and so forth, also they have been going on over the past couple weeks saying that the 'Big Daddy' (which for some reason means Halo) simply cannot be touched score wise despite the fact that Halo 3 wasn't even the first game this year to get a 9.5. The Orange box getting a 10 will make them hush up quite nicely.
I'm not predicting the game will get a 10 however, the gamespot editors are too fickle to be predicted accurately.
...hmmnn.. will they give it 1 score?...
what if they bundle all mario games?....
all halo games?....
sure, value is a solid 10. but are the games?
Anywhere from 8.5 to 9.5 depending on how they view it. If you don't already own HL2 and Ep1 it's great value, if you do own them it still might be good value. I hope they go into detail about how good it is for people who already own these as well as how good it is for people buying HL2 for the first time. If I were a reviewer this game would be a challenge to review, for people who don't already own them HL2 and Ep1 alone are enough for it to get AAA. I haven't paid much attention to how gamespot has reviewed these bundled type games in the past.
So I'm gonna go with 9.6. IMO its probably the best deal you could ever hope for. You get 5 games, 3 of them brand new, a rerelease of one of the best PC games ever and its episodic sucessor. What could be better? If they added Half-Life: Source to the mix, but thats okay. And you get this all for $50 (60 if you're buying 360 or PS3). Better than Halo this year? I think so. I would much rather play TF2 than Halo online any day.InfinityTomorro
I ain't buying that garbage until they release it in Black Box. I already have HL2 and Ep1. Why would I buy them again?
im saying 8.5. just cause it has a loot of games doesnt mean it will run nicelyBillGates_Money
Valve are amazing at optimizing their games. When HL2 was released, it supported DX9 all the way down to DX6 (yes, 6). EP2, TF2, and Portal will require DX8, but that's still impressive considering the fact that most of the big-budget modern PC games like BioShock only support DX9 with SM 3.0 support.
At least 9.0 for PC version.
Console versions are a bit of gamble because games like TF2 weren't made with a control pad in mind and that could hurt the score.
8.0-8.5
I'm not bashing HL or anything, but its pretty much worthless if you have the past games, and Portal seems like a couple hour arcade game. While episode 2 is bound to be interesting, but if episode 1 is to be a reminder, its gonna be pretty short.
If they actually made a whole new remake of the past games, then it might go to 9.0-9.5, but its simply the exact same thing with better textures.
Half Life is a proven AAA franchise, I don't think it'll disappoint. Portal looks to be realy fun and innovative, and TM2 just looks like insane fun....hmmnn.. will they give it 1 score?...
