Whether or not it ends up having an affect on this review, who knows, who cares. Especially the score, just SW fodder at best.
But it's understandable for stuff like this to put a damper on someones experience. The more realistic and grounded violence becomes in gaming, the more it's going to turn some people off. ND is at the forefront of production values in gaming with their animation being a cut above most. Can expect these kinds of reactions when their efforts are geared towards portraying brutality.
Of course we've had flashpoints regarding violence in gaming before, stuff that eventually became normalized. You're not gonna see somebody wince at classic DOOM or MK these days lol. But it has its limits, a point where some people aren't just gonna get over it. Not saying this is the one, but eventually we'll reach that point and this is likely a landmark along the way.
Back to the review/score. Sure, would be weird if this game ended up being some all-timer gameplay wise, but say got a 2/10 for violence lol. But game reviews are already a mine field of "muh feelins" with vague takes and plenty emphasis on nonsense that has nothing to do with how the game actually plays. Don't see this as being any different, and if anything this would at least be understandable if the person legit dreaded the experience. (not excusing the generally poor quality of reviews, just saying that's where we're at)
Which really, just another reason you shouldn't put stock in scores. If the person is doing their job correctly the review will do the talking. Can clearly communicate what's good/bad about the gameplay and why, while also addressing the violence or any other aspect of the game as separate things.
