If it has anything to do with socom sniper won't be the most popular class, nor will there be grenade spamming.
Please be like Socom! I'm a new founded Socom Fanboy =D
All we know is that its a shooter with 256 players. With that in mind, in order to get 265 players on a single map, one has to assume the maps are fairly large and if thats the case, grenade spamming wont be a very viable tactic. And for all you know, maybe grenades are hard to find, or only certain classes have them. Maybe the game is slower paced and you dont get constantly frag -> respawn with grenade games. We dont know. Maybe you only get grenades from ammo boxes on the field and don't spawn with them...that would cut down grenade spamming. Also with a game this size, maybe it will work similar to MMOs where all clases only work when used together. Maybe they will implement a system that will encourage or downright force squad play...once again, we don't know. And if this game happens to have the same community as the Socom community from the PS2 (seeing as this game is related to Socom) then you can expect some good squad gameplay. Socom community was one of the best.- The most popular class by far (and probably the most effective too) is going to be sniper.

i hope sniping is like socom confrontation coz it rocks, just hopethey fix the problem whereyou are prone and have the aim right on enemies head but bullets hit the ground right infront of you
different team. Zipper made the previous socom and a new team, i forget the name, worked on confrontationi hope sniping is like socom confrontation coz it rocks, just hopethey fix the problem whereyou are prone and have the aim right on enemies head but bullets hit the ground right infront of you

sounds kinda like battlefield 2 to me, but it think it will pretty chaotic and unorginized with the amount of ppl that are able to play, if they don't do it right.

Exactly, chaotic and unorganized... That game was critically acclaimed and all that happened was grenade spamming and mostly no vehicle servers (even though the gunplay sucked so god knows why they wanted that), so how can mag fail when a sucky game like BF2 can score so high.
Couldn't agree more with you...it's going to be way to chaotic and i think it will flop.- The most popular class by far (and probably the most effective too) is going to be sniper.

Rockets going everywhere
people who dont follow leaders orders
being shot from all sides
grenades spamming
and a possible chance of 256 players all cursing through there headset
I really don't know enough about it to yet. The one thing they need do is get a demo up a month before release with tons of dedicated servers. And let us try it out on a map or two.
if it is mission based (where each 8 player squad has its own mission it has to do) there shouldn't be any problems. The problems will exist if it is your generic deathmatch, etc. Then snipers whore would exist. I doubt sniping would exsit if you get zero experience points for killing random players..
A lot of the hype is built around having 256 players in a game, I doubt it will deliver on that front.
Besides halo 2, Socom was the only shooter to matchits online capability last generation. I doubt zipper interactive will spend 3 years on something bad. I believe in them.A lot of the hype is built around having 256 players in a game, I doubt it will deliver on that front.

[QUOTE="pyromaniac223"]Grenade/rocket whoring. Technical nightmare Organizational nightmare. It's a good idea, but the community just isn't cut out for something like this.lawlessxrandom grenade throwing is a huge problem in killzone2. Not so much with rockets though Yeah but thats in any game look at COD4 it got so bad you people knew exactly were to stand and throw a frag for maximum damage.
IF they really want to make this game less chaotic than KZ2 32 players games then make the maps really huge. At least bigger than BF2 maps. Also make teams go into squads and each squad respawn into a different part of the map. This way you don't get 40 players in one small area spamming grenades, and just spraying bullets every where.
As long as it is well marketed and it doesnt have any monthly subscription it can do pretty well. It will call a lot of attention due to the first game with 256 people but it wont be grenade fest because maps will be huge like Warhawks maps (They are the biggest). I heard some news that people will be separated into squads of 8 so that sounds awesome. each one will have squad leader and their own voice chat channel. Sounds pretty solid to me.:D Many mates of mine are going to get this game so we can be in our own squad. 8)
i just hope its not another fps but a tps. also i hope theres no monthly fee. and if they dont make communication between your teammates and oponents work well, i think its going to be a mess since theres 256 people playing at once. maybe thats the time youre glad the ps3 dont come with a headset
