Microsoft-Will try something revolutionary and unexpected, will probably succeed.
Nintendo-Will boast 1:1 motion control in all games and will keep up (more or less)with competitors in hardware specs.
Sony: No idea.
I hadn't thought 1:1 at all that would be awesome if they did do that. Seeing as how Microsoft tried to appeal to the family during e3 I wouldn't be half surprised if your prediction came true.Microsoft-Will try something revolutionary and unexpected, will probably succeed.

Nintendo: Wii-Nii (Nii is Japanese for 2), better graphics, ditch friend codes, 1:1 motion sensing.
Sony: PS4....what a shocker!!, better graphics, better physics, maybe something original.
MS: Xbox Truth, or something cool like that (doubtful they'll do 720, for all the idiots that will say that.), all MP games will be cross platform with PC, better graphics, better physics, lots o new IP's, Gears of War 4 at launch.
Probably every company will have some new form of control. Sony probably standard Eyetoy and motion control. Microsoft who knows. Nintendo maybe a Wiimote that doesn't suck?
Nintendo will probably barely upgrade the hardware again. Sony will probably learn from their pricing mistake and release a system with a more advanced Cell, GPU, RAM (and keep similar architechture) and have no new media format (Blu-ray will be fine for next-gen). MS could damned well not even release another system. But next gen they'll probably try to concentrate a lot more on aspects other than XBL.
And Sony said nothing about 10 year gaps between consoles. They said support for 10 years. Probably will see a new Playstation 4-7 years from now.
Nintendo: same hardware in a different package
Sony: just an upgraded ps3, maybe a motion sensing boomerang
Xbox: implement a blu-ray drive, lol
Nintendo- continue to ruin gaming. Not sure how or why, but they're on a mission
Microsoft- More powerful console, more focus on interactivity such as IPTV, maybe a new LIVE setup or added features
Sony- attempt to climb out of the crater left by ps3, lower priced game-focused console to mimic ps2
Nintendo: sticks with the Wii-mote and fine tune it to be even smoother, have graphic hardware on par with competition, broader online options
Microsoft: who knows, they were talking about a motion sensing camera, free online maybe
Sony: refined version of the PS3 that has a much lower launch cost, a slightly redisigned controller with a refined sixaxis that doesn't look like a PS1/2 clone
Nintendo- Wii2 with graphics on par with 360/ps3 and sell it with a huge profit margin(like they do with Wii/DS) Perhaps some new kind of innovation as well.
Sony- Make a cheaper and traditional console(not Wii route).
MS- If they don't turn a profit on 360, I would not be surprised if they abandon the Xbox brand and just focus on Games for Windows instead(just a possibility, not saying it is going to happen for sure, so don' t flame me please :) ). Why should they continue in the console bussiness if they can't make a profit? In the PC market, they don't have to worry about manufacturing costs for hardware, but they can still get money from publishers who put games on Windows.
I think Nintendo will continue to address the casual market
Sony will come with their PS4 with PC features and
Microsoft will try to merge the PC gaming with consoles, giving a scalabilty to their console or something.
and I will come out with my own console dragonforce and win!!!

I'm not flaming, just "suggesting" that MS is thinking further ahead than 360. They can afford massive losses, and keeping a hand in the fight might be worth it to them. 10 or 20 years down the line, they may just revolutionize the industry and make boatloads on it.

I'm not so sure that investors are willing to wait 10 or 20 years, for a chance of something like that happening. What I said is possible(I personally think there is about a 30% chance if MS doesn't make a profit with 360), there are signs of it as well. MS spent quite a lot of time talking about Games for Windows at their E3 Press Confrence. Also, isn't it possible to use a 360 controller on the PC? Perhaps MS won't kill the XBOX brand, but just move it to PCs instead. Think of the advantages of Games for Windows, MS can charge publishers for putting games on Games for Windows just as much as they do for games to be on 360. This also would stop them from losing money on manufacturing new consoles. It must be realized that the big 3 don't just make money off of hardware sales(otherwise they would never sell their consoles at a loss) and 1st-party game sales, they make money off EVERY game sold for their systems due to licensing(obviously they make more from 1st-party games though). Games for Windows works just like a console, but without the heavy manufacturing costs.

Good idea, but you're missing out on something. Every house with a MS console now has some access to XBox Live. All these people are potential XBL gold member, but more importantly, they are now a potential MS customer for on demand movies, music, games, shows and who knows what else will be introduced next gen. The potential for this downloadable market is enormous and could possibly dwarf the profits available from strictly software sales.[QUOTE="whoisryanmack"][QUOTE="ultima-flare"]Nintendo- Wii2 with graphics on par with 360/ps3 and sell it with a huge profit margin(like they do with Wii/DS) Perhaps some new kind of innovation as well.

MS wouldn't need "investors" to do this if they didn't want to. Also, we're talking about MS, lets say you invest money with them....you gonna trust your gut, or let the richest company on the planet take this one? I don't know about you, but I'll let MS call the shots. Besides, gaming is only one small fraction of the company, investors have many other areas in which to make quick profit.
It is MS's job to make sure that lucrative business keeps coming their way so investors will keep wanting to invest. They aren't going to do that by sitting back and milking current success alone.Windows already owns gaming, now, they're looking to dominate somewhere else.I don't know the timeframe, 10 or 20 years is a blind guess, but it's pretty safe to say that MS is thinking much longer term than the current console race.
