Man i forgot how awesome of a action adventure game this game was. i just got the POP WW HD remake on PSN and i honestly dont see any AA games this gen that is on this level of gaming. the depth, the difficulty, everything about this game was amazing. the platforming and puzzles are some of the best ever. 20+ hours of gameplay...

The new prince of persia game that came out this gen is an embarrassment to the REAL ones from last gen. i recommend everyone to go on PSN and get the POP trilogy HD remakes. its well worth it.

who els misses the POP games of old?

It was the game that made me love action adventure games but I think it's been topped a number of times. Still, the best Prince of Persia game IMO.

I loved it. I thought Sands of Time was awesome, but when I first started playing the sequel, I was blown away :D It's a shame really... I liked the darker prince more than the one from SoT and TTT

I can get the PoP Collection with all three games for €25....but I'm still on the fence...
Namely because I've finishes WW a 5 times by now...even got the secret ending. Same goes for SoT...I have played TT only once or twice, lame story.

Not ashamed to admit it resulted in me having a few godsmack songs on my ipod. They are truly a horrible band on average but they have a few breakthroughs here and there that to me at least are worth relistening. Also the game itself was a lot of fun. Being chased by that dark monster thing was always a rush, the fighting was much improved over the previous title and to me personally the new style was just a lot of fun.

..

Basically I had a great amount of fun with the game and dark emo or not it was to me at least a great entry into the already amazing series.

Terrible game. Combat was somehow actually worse (a leveling system, or some incentive to fight the monsters should have been given. So boring) and the game looked awful. The artistic, aesthetic design, whatever you want to call it, just left a bad taste in my mouth. To say nothing of the ear-bleeding "music".

I trudged through it as long as I could before going on Youtube and seeing if there was anything remotely interesting I missed. There wasn't.

I'll admit though, the Dahaka chase scenes were nice. I liked those, for what that's worth.

I bought it after finishing the excellent Sands of Time, played it for 3-4 hours, then returned it the next day. Warrior Within is one of the worst sequels I've ever had the misfortune to play. Fun fact: did anyone know that Jordan Mechner, PoP creator, returned for Sands of Time? He had nothing to do with WW or TT. Just saying...

Yeah, WW is easily the worst in the trilogy too, if you can't even be the best within your own trilogy, how can you hope to be the best in the genre..

I don't understand the flack this game gets, but then again I've yet to play SoT. Still though, while it's not an exceptional piece in the genre, it was hell of a lot better than both The Two Thrones and PoP 2008.

IMO: WW > TT > SoT. I must say I'm suprised that so many seems to prefer SoT. I guess it's because of art direction and that it's more accessible? I don't see how u can argue that gameplay is in any way better (or people actually like to scoop up sand from their fallen enmies ?). It's a fantastic trilogy, but I have only played it on PC with kb+m and that's not my prefered control for this genre. I guess I have to replay them on ps3 to decide if it's the best AA of all times 8)!

not the best but up there with the best of them. I didn't play two thrones yet but WW destroys sand of time, the 2008 one and the one that came last year. mature theme ftw

ya the combat in SOT is so linear and repetitive. WW has a deep combat system that one can master. look at all these freakin amazing combo's one can do. made the game more fun...i think some ppl dont like it because of its dark mature theme. i can understand that but for me i prefer its styl3 more. plus waaayyyy longer game play. alot harder, i loved the story more also. and the prince was just a bad ass. the other in SOT and TT the prince was just annoying, always a smart ass, trys to be funny and charming. childish..

The problem I found with Warrior Within is that it is like many modern Action Adventures. They are way more action than adventure and IMO it should be the other way around. Uncharted is basically a shooter the same with Resident Evil. GOW is basically a BEMUP just as Warrior Within. But the PRO I found was that it was less level focused, kinda tried an open world, which is a plus in the genre.

Probably this or TT was the best in the trilogy. SoT kinda had the same problem sometimes focusing too much on platforming and including a lackluster combat. PoP 2008 almot did it right with the world and combat but ruined it with the platforming aspect. Also more types and quantity of adventure type puzzles would help in all of them.

The only bad thing that I remember of the PC versions is the almost default for console to PC ports, crappy avi cutscenes. Everything else was the same plus the usual PC extras like rez, AA, AF options.

Zelda comes under action adventure doesn't it? I prefer AC anyway, but have only played about an hour of WW (was impressed though). I was thinking about buying the collection for the PS3 but heard there are problems, glitches & bugs, some that ruin your save etc. Is this much of a problem?

I actually enjoyed WW a lot because how dark it was and how the game was pretty long (albeit with many backtracking like Metroid).:) I liked the whole past and present component of the game and enjoyed how the combat had become more deep (even though you could runaway from your ennemies pretty easily =/). However, despite being a fan of the trilogy and how I liked this game a lot, it had many glaring flaws... Mainly glitches and some design concepts that I thought were stupid:?

The game was a bit more harder and darker but I still enjoyed it. The lenght and shift of direction from Sands of Time was surprising but hell, I liked it.:P The only game in the trilogy I was disappointed with was Two Thrones but hell, that usually happens with trilogies and I still thought it was a quality title.:P

Best version of the game on consoles was ironically the GC version (the one I had:P). The Xbox version I believe had sound glitches while the PS2 version had visual issues. It was a rather buggy game at times but it's a big one.:P

Also I don't think it's worth shelling out $15 for it in HD for the PS3, hell the trophies aren't even worth it. Get the PC version since I'm sure almost anyone can run that thing by now otherwise, if you have a BC PS3 (or still have your last gen consoles), get it for like $5 or something lol.:P

WW is my favorite in the series. I liked the serious nature of the story. I also loved the improved combat, platforming with the excellent paced Dahaka chases and the music. Godsmack has only 2 songs - "I Stand Alone" which is played only during the Dahaka chases and "Straight Out Of Line" during the credits. I really don't know why they get the hate for the music when only 2 songs of theirs are there in the game.

Two Thrones was IMO, the worst in the series. What a way to kill a trilogy :?

I remember WW had a 9.4 score on GS. They later docked the points to 8.8 :\

sands of time was good but its combat got repetitive. way too simple. no depth. WW took that to a whole new level. WW upgraded everything. so i cant see why someone would prefer SOT. the only reason i can see be a turn off is the mature theme of WW. but thats subjective

Indeed they did, in the transition of SoT to warrior within he lost all his charm, was harder to like and was really grumpy.

I did not consider the Prince in SoT to be a likable character either. The transition from SoT to WW was unearned, but it managed to tell a more interesting story and became a far better paced game in the end.

=| Warrior Within while not a bad game mechanically at all... Was an absolute *abomination* and is a perfect example of what's wrong with *gamers* when it comes to the presentation and theme of *games*. Yes, it says a lot. Especially considering how much better Sands of Times was and the changes between. Now that, was the best.
