im sorry but this is ridiculous, MS wanted the headstart and they got it, and now the are trying to keep up with new technology that will become standard

once again proving that sony is extremely smart and plans for the future better that anybody

and dont even compare this to ps2 slime, ps2 slim came out FOUR years later not 1.5 years after the original console release, and ps2 slime didnt have a better video output added on, all ps2 slim was smaller and had the network adapter built in, ps2 slim didnt alienate early opters, at all.

if i already had a 360 and had an HDTV i would be really pissed off!

no wonder MS still HAS NOT made a profit in their game division! my advice MS for xbox720 release it in the US only and include a bluray drive in it!

and dont give me early opters get raw deals crap, PS1 PS2 PS3 early opters NEVER GOT A RAW DEAL AT ALL

I don't get what you're saying....Becuase MS didn't include an HDMI until recently, they've alienated early adopters? BTW, you can do a VGA to HDMI converter if you're really that anal about HDMI. Otherwise its pretty much useless this gen.

Ive had 18months of excellent gaming on my X360 so far- VGA is more than adequate for my gaming needs- HDMI is just a bonus- its good that MS are reacting to demand & starting to include HDMI with the new consoles. when my X360 eventually goes- ill get a new1 with HDMI, 65nm & all the bells & whistles- that is of course IF my X360 breaks down this generation- since so far its been working fine.

Ah Microsoft. Leaving their early xbox 360 just like they left the orinigal xbox. Shame.

Anwyay is this true? If it is then this is in fact a shame.

Pretty much. without a 1080p source, there's really no reason for it....so this is really only bad for those who bought the hd-dvd add on. Like I said as well, anyone could already have hdmi thru vga if they really wanted.

if you do the sensible thing & wait, you pay less, get a product with hopefully most of the bugs ironed out plus there are usually more AAA games on the market...

Urm, no, the UK has large amounts of 360 owners. It's more than worth it in Europe.

If they dropped out of regions like Europe and the UK, they would lose all the marketshare they could potentially gain, not to mention the marketshare that put them into debt so much in the first place! Same with Japan, that is the largest marketshare they could potentially gain if they can crack the market, ignoring it would destroy the growth of the machine.

I could care less about HDMI. If something has it cool. Other then that it doesn't matter and is just a bonus feature to me.
