^^ Those images look pretty bad.

Yeah, sometimes it actually looked passable - but at times it looked much worse than that. I just can't play anything with the floaty controls though - aiming should be easier with a mouse, not harder because of lag.

Try spinning the camera.

Also, where are the EU servers located?

Your title needs work. Even midrange/semi-low end can match OnLive quality, without the compression artifacts.rpgs_shall_rule

This says it all

I dont really see it as all that different from Netflix.

You don't own anything you purchase from Netflix. The quality is below that of Blu-Ray discs.

As far as i can see it, OnLive probably provides the most flexible payments models of any service i've ever seen: You can pay in one lump sum for permanent access, in monthly fees for subscription access, or as a rental.

Once you stop paying for Netflix, you're left wiht nothing as well. Netflix isnt for everyone, but it appeals to alot of people.

I dont use OnLive, and probably wont for years. It's appeal isnt for everyine. But i can see its advantages and i dont think the negatives you bring up are very strong arguments.

I'm not entirely familiar with Netflix but I've streamed movies on xbox live and I'll say the quality is almost as good as BluRay... it's not a serious reduction particularly as those who watch movies don't sit inches from the screen like PC gamers do.

so there is alot less people to play with

If BF3 came out for ONLIVE would you get it for it or the PC

Right... I don't trust anything coming out of Rikusaki's (figurative) mouth. He lost all credibility when he tried to argue that satellites are used for intercontinental Internet.

You mean they're not? :( :P But it's not officially launched over here, all the prices are in $'s, not that I plan to spend ANY money on it.

you guys are all talking about the quality on the pc/mac, which is freaking terrible, i hate the pc client. (let the short rant begin) I know that onlive promotes the mac/PC client as the main platform, and the microconsole as an accessory, but the way I see it, the console is what they need to focus on (come on, the thing costs much less than any other console, and using it actually does give you console-quality graphics) and then just promote the client as more of a feature, a convenience if you're away from home. I decided to try it a while back even though I have a 360, and since then, if the game was available on onlive, I bought it there, if anything for the sheer convenience of the instant play. To put it into perspective, I will hit the PLAY button for red faction armageddon at exactly 9:01 june 6th, and start playing the game 15 seconds later. And it's not hard to experience the difference the console makes, there's always some deal going on to get one free (in fact, I have 2 of the damn things, and I might just get more so I can start building a fort with them) there are a few kinks and glitches in the service, but updates and fixes are constant. They always pay close attention to several different forums to see exactly what everybody wants. Come on guys, just give it a try, and quit complaining about change. - okay, rant over, haha

dontshackzmii
You think that onlive is powered by magic... it's not. The hardware is on their end.
