I believe it will the PS3 sales have been going up since the slim and the 360 down year to year worldwide it's only a matter of time before the 360 gets dethroned from second place

btw if ps3 goes to $199 it's over not even halo 4 will save it.

1 they are currently not losing any money on each console sold

Yeah, the PS3 totally had a drought in 2006. I mean, sure, the console only came out in NOVEMBER 2006...but that only means 10 whole months of NOTHING.

And considering the PS3 had Resistance, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, all in the first year it was out, I wouldn't call that an "exclusive drought".

I've owned a 360 & PS3 for a long time & have always had plenty of games to play on each, both are great game consoles. However, whether or not one outsales the other is of absolute no importance to me & I literally have no clue why it is to anyone.

99.9999999% of the analysts were also saying the same thing in 2005. :o

2. heavy rain

3. yakuza 3

4. white knight chronicles

5. MAG

6. MLB the show.

these 6 exclusive were released within 3 month only.

Nobody cares about natal except lemmings who used to bash Sony for ripping off other people's ideas but then suddenly think MS is revolutionizing gaming when THEY rip off the same idea.

but back on topic. the ps3 will pass the 360 in sales lifetime. as bluray gets bigger, as 3d gets bigger, as motion controls get bigger (natal camera v move camera and wand). and its all ok the 360 was and still is great fun. it does not matter how many systems were sold compared to the next company because the only thing that matters is did you enjoy halo, gears and fabel? if so gamer happy, mission accomplished .

sony sold a different product this gen. sony always sold a cheep underpowered machine at a good price point. this gen they sold a highend multimedia machine at a preminum price. sony has done well.

for example its eaiser to sell more hotdogs than steaks. look at what kojima said about the three systems when comparing them to dining experiences

whether you like it or not the 360 is losing it's apeal especially worldwide while they are trying hard to stay on top in it's only country America and are coming even with PS3.

Patcher is right it is only a matter of time, when PS3 goes to $199 the 360's will be sitting on the shelfs mark my words.

maybe sometime in the future, but I cant see it happening any time soon. 360 is still either outselling PS3 or its sellinga bout even, and it still has a sizeable lead on PS3. and if MS releases a Slim 360, it could reinvigorate sales of 360 and it could handily outsell PS3.

What in the world is this "drought" talk all about? I've had trouble catching up on all the games (retail and XBLA) that I wanted to at least play since the 360 released (can't speak on the PS3, i don't own one yet). Wanna know what a real game drought is? Try the NES, Gen and SNES days when games were'nt hitting the shelves every week like they do now. Back then we werer happy to see 2 relevant games drop every 3 months. These times have spoiled a good bit of you. Everything must come at you hard, fast and often. To get back on topic though, I can see PS3 possibly surpassing 360 in worldwide sales but the damage has already been done. Sony allowed MS to get their feet firmly planted in the gaming industry. Xbox Live pretty much ensures this. All Sony had to do was price the PS3 competetively from the start and they would have run away with this gen, but as we say in show business, their heads got too big for their hats. The mere fact that there is even a discussion on PS3 catching and possibly surpassing 360 in sales after being on the market for going on 4 years now shows just how out of touch with the market they had become until this past year and a half.
