PFFFFT! Obsidian? People are still wasting money on these ass h*les? Dudes couldn't code a game properly if their life depended on it.

I'm hoping that because there is no publisher forcing deadline on them all the time that they will have the bugs in their game at a minimum. It may be wishful thinking but even though Fallout: New Vegas was a bugfest, it is one of the best RPGs this gen. I have not played their past work but many of their past projects are considered classics.
I've heard a lot of good things about New Vegas, but some of those things I've seen in reviews scare the sh*t out of me. Are there mods that correct most of the problems in the PC version? If so I might get it because Fallout 3 was pretty badass.
Most of my experience with New Vegas was on PS3 so the bugs were never fixed but I can almost guarantee you there are mods to fix many of the bugs for the PC version. The mod community for that game remains very strong and there are so many awesome mods that people have made. Just go to the New Vegas Nexus site (Also, get the Nexus Mod Manager so its easier to install/uninstall mods) and you can browse for the best ones available.

PC version is the least buggy version of the bunch, and with all the official patches plus a few "essential" mods, you should have a relatively bug-free experience, with no game-breaking annoyances like broken quests, or something equally bad...Go for it, New Vegas is definitely one of the best RPGs this gen, no matter the technical issues which are almost completely fixed at this point...
If only there were some mods for bethesda games to make the combat interesting. I've looked high and low and all I could find were rebalances and cinematic executions.

I've played Kotor2 and a little of Planescape: Torment. In the latter, I reached a point where it is possible to get a guy out of a suicidal funk by snapping your neck in front of him. How many games allow you to do that?[QUOTE="BPoole96"]

Damn, should really play Planescape: Torment, saw it for $10 on GOG. But can you tell, how does it live up to today's standards, does the game stand the test of time?
And if there are some noticeably shaky elements, are there any mods that help?

How many games allow you to do that? Ive wanted to try planescape for a little bit now, but from what Ive been told is the combat is a total dredge. Is the story really worth it? It get's praised alot.I just donapledgeordered for $55 and I don't even know if I'm really into what this'll be. Never played Planescape Torment and such. Have faith in Obsidian's ability to deliver compelling dialog and plot stuffs, which is why I bothered, but I generally don't like fantasy game things. They tend to be silly/exaggerated/outlandish or otherwise weird to the point that it's difficult for me to relate to much of anything. Also I don't know what I'd want or expect from the combat. Don't really have a frame of reference. "It's like Betrayal's Gate." means very little to me.
Anyway, I blame Tim Schafer.
ADVENTURE!
Anyway, just in case someone is not aware and is interested, they are streaming the final countdown to end of pledging period.

It get's praised alot.Well, I've been told that it's actually possible to get through the game with very little combat. So far I've found that every violent encounter I've stumbled across is/would've been completely avoidable with proper thought and stuff. The writing's pretty good so far. One scene in particular stands out. Though you have to read, because the engine doesn't actually show characters doing actions, so you have to read the text. And there's a lot of text.[QUOTE="BPoole96"]

I'm not really any kind of judge on a game "aging." I mean, I got Thief earlier this year and played the crap out of it, never had any problems. I haven't encountered any deal-breaking bugs, like with Fallout and its wonky colors. Took me forever to figure out how to get out of the freaking mortuary, though. Please Log In to post.
