Project Gotham Racing 4 8.5

Everyone does know this game was hyped AA right? PS3 owners should just be quiet when this so called, as they call it, lame sequel outscored AAA hyped games such as Lair and Heavenly Sword and just tied your best PS3 game to date....Warhawk....lol.

Lair wasn't AAA hyped??? omg, thats saying like Halo 3 wasn't hyped. Lair was the most hyped game for PS3 this year and not only did it flop it flopped horribly.

technically it was hyped AA in the official thread. dont use this arguement because this is exactly what many cows are doing with pgr4.

IGN UK, eurogamer, and a bunch of other sites and mags have already given it a 9 or higher.

Looks like another game ONLY gamespot will not give AAA status.

I'm sure it is another PGR2, had a 93.5% on gamerankings and AA on gamespot.

I don't know why they don't "get" this series and why it's so great.

Oh well, 8.5 is still an really great score. This game is going to be an amazing amount of fun!!!

Awesome score, I've never owned a PGR game, and I think I'll pick this one up later.

Great online play + motor cycles + weather effects = very deep game and plenty of different of combinations of gameplay.

Game standards are higher on the 360.

Under the old review system PGR4 could have gotten an 8.8 or an 8.9 for all you know.

Also, everyone else has given this game a AAA score so far so I'm more doubting gamespot than doubting the game.

Just like Metroid, Zelda, and Zelda TP. Another game gamespot doesn'tgive AAAbut is still one of the best games out for any system on the market.

well, by lemming standards these days, all 360 exclusives are considered to be AAA titles before they even come out. lemmings have just gotten a bit too arrogant these days . . . . not all of your games are going to be AAA material . . .

By lemming standards, the game was hyped AAE and that is what it achieved. If you can give me a thread that shows a majority of lemmings hyped it AAA then yes I will say it was a flop. Sure after OXM and IGN UK we were hoping it would get AAA but the official hype was AA and remained AA.

Oh and you guys know it scored lower than PGR 3 right? And this has nothign to do with the new rating system because if PGR 4 scored a 8.8 like PGR 3, they would round it up to 9.0 in the new rating system.

Everyone knows this. Even 6 year old kids and 80 year old grandmothers.

What they meant was of course that the motorcycles were overpowered compared to the cars in the game.

1- it was never hyped a GT killer
2- It was hyped AA(how is that even a GT killer to begin weith)
3- THe game got an 8.5 matching its hype.

I posted specific examples in the Warhawk disscusion thread like Godhawk on the Godstation 3 . Same levity of hype for both games.

If anything, I'm pointing out that the only true hypocrites here are the cows....

Well, if i remember correctly, when OXM reviewed this game AAA, some lemmings were hyping it to be more than AA. And your specific examples regarding warhawk would not have reflected the majority of cows' hype of warhawk. So its pretty much the same thing. I get that you actually did point out some hypocrits but it was not the whole cow population(this sounds totally wrong). Same goes to the cows bashing this game to be a flop, because its not.

This is a great case of selective memory loss. This game was hyped as the best racer ever, GT killer, blah blah, for ages on SW. On top of that, Warhawk met it's hype and was still called a "flop" day in and out by lems, but it seems nobody remembers that either.

The official hype threads are bogus to begin with, but now that everyone is playing it safe, they are a joke.

This board can be a great place to get information, but it's getting ridiculous how the whole focus of the board is "owning" one another, to the point that the whole thing is regulated and officiated.
