project offset=vaporware

It actually makes duke nukem forever look good.

atleast some duke nukem forever gameplay has actually been shown.

All there's ever been shown was tech demos of engine features for project offset.

This also reminds me epicgames bought out painkiller developers if they keep people can fly painkiller developers from making another painkiller game rott in hell sorry bastards .

epicgames had people can fly port gears of war onto pc.

vaporware sorry.

The worst **** ever is epicgames buying out people can fly painkiller developers...you know epic might not let them make another painkiller game?

They had some amazingly talented developers.

Yes, I know, since this game is being developed by an Intel-owned company, I am assuming that it will take advantage of Intel's quad core CPUs. The GPU bit was just a joke from me.

Look at all these fanboys trying to claim vaporware.

So, Diablo 3 was vaporware until recently, even though it has been in development for a while now.

Starcraft 2 is vaporware cause it was developed for years before we heard about it.

Any game is vaporware cause it takes a while to make it.

I don't think it looks better than Crysis, Crysis goes for pure realism while this one is stylized for a specific visual experience.

That said I started losing interest around the times it showed 3rd person game play, at least for me it seems to have lost some of its 'awe' when it's in game play.

I'm always open to change my mind when they show more; it has been a tad quiet since the Intel purchase, which says Intel is doing something they want to keep secret for a while.

Probably optimisation for Larrabee.

I have seen their models and I know how insane it looked at the time of release; but pouring all your resources into one scene has differen't complications than a full game, the old videos impress me more even today than the game play videos.

yea i alreasy seen those I have a like a few pages ahead, trying to dig up as much I can on the game.

This game was going to 360 and ps3 however intel bought the game, now only made for the pc I'm sure since intel is making a graphics card this game is going to be maxed out and insane.

SIGGRAPH is next week.

Intel will be showcasing Larrabee at SIGGRAPH.

Project Offset is extremely likely the flagship title for Larabee...

We may see something next week.

Then again, we may not.

Offset Software is in the same situation as Remedy is...

Both dev's have been working on their games since 2004.

Both dev's only have 25 people working for them, and both dev's constant have their games accused of being Vaporware despite common sense saying that it takes a while for a small dev to make a game.

Intel will have a high-end Larrabee designed for gaming.

They have suggested that they are planning on having many different levels of Larrabee.

8 - 48 Core Larrabee's will be made. Among those will be gaming level GPU's that they are hoping to use to enter that market.

Yes this game looks awesome in every way. I will get it at launch..and if the intel video cards are the ones that can run it best i may just get one of those (but i may not because i will be in college by then...which is sad because i remember looking at this game in 9th grade).

They're probably not used to it happening on PC; usually it is a company like Sony or Microsoft buying up games and making them console exclusive.

If this trend continues, we're going to have intel, amd, and nvidia all paying for PC exclusives that push their high-end hardware. :P

They would have to at this rate.

Cross platform games are several holding progress back, modern hardware is simply not being taken advantage of in the majority of games; which means few incentives to buy the latest GPUs/CPUs.

You will get the odd game like Crysis, but you need a wide range of high end games to justify the adoption of newer hardware. I wouldn't be surprised if all the gaming orientated hardware companies started ganging up on consoles to ensure PC exclusives; particularly modern hardware utilising exclusives.

Take GPU computing for instance; it will take a PC exclusive to really show off GPU accelerated physics, AI, game code and so on.

Yes, I think Project Offset will be the test-bed. If it succeeds and ends up selling Larrabees, Nvidia and AMD are going to have to start buying developers and games to showcase hardware.

I don't think nvidia can compete maybe AMD

NVIDIA is in a better financial situation than AMD at the moment \. They're both big companies. PAying out 10-20 million for an exclusive wouldn't be any problem for them.

If Larrabee turns out to be whats on paper it'll leave nVidia and AMD far behind in the race for GPU supremacy. The big thing is it's ease to program for since it's based off a x86 processor.

If this trend continues, we're going to have intel, amd, and nvidia all paying for PC exclusives that push their high-end hardware. :P

Fusible

Yea, but a lot of things will go wrong, and they will.

I am completely befuddled as to why people are hyping this game.. A team Intel have commisioned producing a game. Do Intel have any experience whatsoever in the Software/Gaming industry. No. Someone tell me why you are hyping this game.

put this way sony and Ms are trouble now ! Pc games will make the consoles look real weak. Lets just say Ms and sony have been the pc's bully! taking all the great candy away from pc gamers! Now Pc's big brothers are here to beat them up.

That's the big deal

Its not so much the game as the act of Intel buying the developer.

Sony and MS have been taking away exclusives from the PC, and now the hardware manufacturers realize that they need to follow their business strategies if they're going to end up selling any more high-end hardware.

What's with the Kingdom of Heaven Music? :| I've been watching this game for a while. That trailer was a straight LOTR ROTK rip-off. I like it :D Hope it turns out good.
