[QUOTE="dgsag"][QUOTE="AnnoyedDragon"][QUOTE="dgsag"] If this trend continues, we're going to have intel, amd, and nvidia all paying for PC exclusives that push their high-end hardware. :P

They would have to at this rate.
Cross platform games are several holding progress back, modern hardware is simply not being taken advantage of in the majority of games; which means few incentives to buy the latest GPUs/CPUs.
You will get the odd game like Crysis, but you need a wide range of high end games to justify the adoption of newer hardware. I wouldn't be surprised if all the gaming orientated hardware companies started ganging up on consoles to ensure PC exclusives; particularly modern hardware utilising exclusives.
Take GPU computing for instance; it will take a PC exclusive to really show off GPU accelerated physics, AI, game code and so on.
Yes, I think Project Offset will be the test-bed. If it succeeds and ends up selling Larrabees, Nvidia and AMD are going to have to start buying developers and games to showcase hardware.
I don't think nvidia can compete maybe AMDNVIDIA is in a better financial situation than AMD at the moment \. They're both big companies. PAying out 10-20 million for an exclusive wouldn't be any problem for them.
