Proof Sonic has a better soundtrack than Mario Galaxy 2
Can't deny the hard facts. :o

Another thread with "proof" in the title, another thread without proof. It's very subjective. I still think SMG1/2 music is better.

Not really. The link and his posting history says it all.
Loads of Mario tunes own Sonic ones
Gusty Garden Galaxy
Underground:Super Mario Bros
Buoy Base
Ultimate Koopa
Ice Cap Zone> all video games' soundtracks combined
Renegade_Fury
This, my dear brethren, is absolute fact.
What am I listening to?...siLVURcross
Sonic CD good ending.
I like the opening more though. It's one of my favs.
IMO Sonic Boom owns all other Sonic songs.[QUOTE="Nintendo_Ownes7"]
[QUOTE="chocolate1325"]
Star Light Zone owns all other Sonic songs.
Seabas989
Nah it's either Chemical Plant or Sonic 3&K Final Boss theme that own all Sonic songs.
Sorry guys but the Ice Cap song pwns all!I always believed Sonic had as better soundtrack than Mario Anything. But then again I was a Sonic fan back in the day and I still pretty much am, Sonic 4TW. Saying that Mario music isn't half bad, please don't attack me Ninty fans  I love Mario Wooooooooooooooooooooo
I'd rank my favorite Sonic songs like this:
1. Ice Cap Zone Act 1 & Act 2
2. Chemical Plant
3. Metrotoplolis Zone
4. Lava Reef Zone 1
5. Sonic 3 ending
As good as Mario games are, the music in those games will NEVER touch Sonic's ****cs. 8)
Oh, and Sonic 3D blast was also pretty awesome too. Most underrated Sonic soundtrack out there IMO.
I do have to say that in the 16 bit era I always thought the sonic songs were far better than the mario ones. Let´s face it,Sonic, sonic 2,sonic CD,sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles have killer soundtracks;)Sonic has some cool tunes, however they can't even begin to touch Mario's, not even on their best day.
I mean, we can argue this several ways. Diversity. Iconic. Personal opinion, though when has that meant anything in SW? :P
Khadaj32
After that,I really can´t say,but sonic songs decreased in quality that´s for sure.
I think you misspelled Green Hill Zone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFHvxuuOymo Still not as great as Mario though.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKUcIaGvSmw

^Probably the best music in a platformer ever.
Shinobi7777
This would disagree with you. Personally, I was more fond of Emerald Hill Zone, as well. :P
@TC:
lolwut?
If I had heard nothing else, this alone would've made Galaxy 2's soundtrack awesome.

Oh, and Sonic 3D blast was also pretty awesome too. Most underrated Sonic soundtrack out there IMO.
- Rusty Ruins Act 2
- Gene Gadget Act 1
- Gene Gadget Act 2
- Panic Puppet Act 1
Renegade_Fury
No love for Hydrocity Act 2?
Back then, Sonic probably had better music than Mario games.
Ice Cap Zone
Aquatic Ruin Zone
Chemical Plant Zone
Casino Night Zone
Nowadays you can't say that though. Sonic Team really needs to drop the songs with vocals and focus on actual music. Sonic 4 is a step in the right direction, but it just doesn't have the same magic anymore.
I don't understand the logic in comparing a soundtrack from the 90s to a soundtrack from modern days. If we were comparing this to say.......Mario World or Yoshi's Island I might understand. But......A) Sonic Boom kicks wayyy more a**, B) Mario Galaxy is orchastrated thus (IMO) making it better, and C) [this is random] the Metroid series kicks both Galaxy and Sonic CD out the water.
Just sayin'......:P
