I think it depends on what your definitions are for "high" or "max" settings. According to 1up, not even the newest graphics cards coming out are capable of running Crysis completely maxed out.
Yet if you listen to hermits here, they all say they have the 8800 GT and a $200 rig and claim they run Crysis on max.
So who do you believe?
Really....who cares?
ZIMdoom
very high is playable with an 8800 GT.
The patch, the new drivers, and a lower resolution all make that very possible.
I get about 30 FPS average at 1280x1024 resolution(when using my monitor) / 1280x720 resolution(when using my TV).
Naturally at 720p I am getting a higher framerate than 1280x1024 but not too much higher.
Also, no AA(which isn't a big deal because other than jaggies on trees(which is fixed by using "useEdgeAA 2." That only drains 1-2 FPS which is nice) Crysis has suprisingly few jaggies.)
I say I can "max" out Crysis because I AM playing on the Very High settings(which happens to be the highest) and the resolution isn't a big deal to me. I accept the lower resolution because my displays don't have rediculously high resolutions to begin with. My monitor is native at 1280x1024 and my TV can only output 720p through the DVI port. So I have absolutely no reason to push the resolution above what I am currently running it at(besides testing my hardware).
