Umm.  PS2 if you've never owned one, probably.  It's cheap and has a LOT of cheap awesome games.

As of right now, the PS2, of course.

It's not a new system though, you should know that.  There won't be many future releases for it, but it has an amazing library that shouldn't be shunned.

tough choice.

If you've never owned a gamecube, go for the Wii.  It's perfectly backwards compatible, and you can play some classic gamecube games for cheap, and at the same time, play the newer Wii games (plus Metroid Prime Corruption is coming out in a few months).

Definitely go for the Wii, if for no other reason than eventually they're going to stop making games for the PS2. The Wii is just plain better anyway...

Both are good choices. The PS2 has been out longer, and has a lot of great games out, most of which you can get cheap. The Wii provides a unique experience, and I'm pretty sure there are enough titles out right now that will keep your interest while the big titles come out later this year.It comes down to which you prefer.

Hmm thats true, not only is the Wii backwards compatible for the GC and you can play Wii games on it. But it also has a lot of other classic titles from other Nintendo consoles. Quite frankly, scrap my initial responce, since I have no idea. I guess it depends on your situation.

Don't get the PS2 if you might be playing a lot of multiplayer. It fails at that.

well, if you don't have a PS3, then get the PS2, if you don't have a GC, then get the Wii, for now, both are good choices, but if you're not interested in backwards compatibility then get the PS2 for sure.
