(the title is just to attract people, no flame war here)

i want to know : could the ps2 still be in full shape with tons of releases (many still to come) if the wii wasn't there ?

*because most developpers who developpe for the wii will also developpe for the ps2 (and psp too)
so, would the ps2 still be alive if nintendo didn't do the wii as it is right now ? (if the wii was more powerful)

If anything the Wii is keeping the PS2 alive and the PS2 is holding the Wii back.

The PS2 is still alive it out sells the PS3 and 360 every once in a while still.

The PSOne lived a Long time too, so I think the PS2 would still be here regardless.

Lazy devs are porting what would have been PS2 games NO MATTER what to Wii.

Manhunt 2 would have still come to PS2, but it would not have come to Wii. At this point, the Wii needs the PS2 more than the PS2 needs the Wii.

Eventually that will change though.
