PS3 and 360 - 80% FPS - 10% Sports - 5% Driving - 2.5% Adventure - 2.5% RPG

Where's the variety ? People spent the better part of the Wii's existence making fun of either it's control scheme, it's lack of next gen hardware or most of all it's game library.

However it is the only system on the market with thee most diversified library in terms of even number of choices in each genre.

The Wii has pretty even numbers in each Platformers, RPG's, FPS, Adventure, Sports, Driving, Action. So bottom line, it's not the Wii's gimmicky controller or cheap price that makes it such a HOT seller it's the diversity in the games.

Let's be honest, on the Wii there are games that let you own a farm and plant crops to earn a living, another game lets you explore beneath the ocean, while cataloging each species of fish you come into contact with, or you can play as a Prince and set off on your ship to colonize southern islands and build civilizations, while helping your home kingdom recover from a drastic drought that wiped out it's fields.

Each of these titles ( Rune Factory:Frontier - Endless Ocean - Dawn of Discovery ) are not found on the other consoles and yet each of them provide a unique gaming experience that also can't be found on other consoles.

So if you ask me Sony and Microsoft can learn a lesson from these titles, which is, "Put down the guns, Pack up the sporting goods, Park the cars and trucks" and try making games that have some imagination and make you wonder what those game experiences would be like.

The Wii lacks Diversity when compared to the other consoles due to missing out on almost all the multiplats, the Wii has no WRPG, no Racing Sims, and lacks in Fighters, FPS, and sandbox games were there are only 1 or 2 titles in these catagories. FPS may be more popular on the PS3 and 360, but that doesnt mean other games are not still avaliable.

I think ModernTimes answered this for you already....from the OP's arse. Seriously, the Wii has a great variety of games, but very few that I'd actually care to play. Plus, the categories you make up numbers for on the 360 and PS3 are either completely lacking, or of poor quality on the Wii, so what's your point? Maybe people actually like QUALITY FPS, sports, etc. games. Ever think THAT might be the reason for so many of them on the HD consoles? You also forgot to mention the excellent driving games and RPG's, but I'll leave you to your failure now.

I think you exaggerate TC, but i still wish there were more RPG,plattform, and action adventure titles.

The problem though with the Wii, is the fact that it's games don't really have much in the way of quality. I'll give you that the 360 and PS3 could use more games with imagination, but I'd rather have a system that had good quality shooters, and less variety, than have a system that had variety without quality games.

Now before people begin calling me a fanboy or something, I have a Wii, and I own what I believe are the best games. I have Mario Galaxy (one of my favorite games ever), Metroid Prime (very high quality game), Smash Bros, and Mario Kart. I think that there are a small handfull of good games on the system other than these. Beyond them, the Wii's lineup is unfortunately not one many hardcore gamers can take seriously.

I do think that the Wii has alot of promise though. It does seem to have some good games coming out in the not too distant future. With new Mario games, Metroid, Zelda, No More Heroes, I'm not by any means saying the Wii is a terrible system, I'm just saying I don't think that many of the non-nintendo games are even worth considering.

What ever people think is worth while doing in there life is up to them, who are you to judge ? Many consider video games as the ultimate form of entertainment and fun, besides once people come full circle in there lives then they end up in front of there TV and video games anyway. What i mean by full circle is once a person is set with a wife, family, house, and job most are so busy trying to scratch out a decent living that they can't afford to do much else but stay home and play video games or watch TV. So to the those people, yes a variety of games is more important then having just another shooter.

There are 4 big fps this year, killzone 2, left 4 dead, halo odst, and mw2. WHat is assasin creed 2, uncharted 2, Forza 3, R&C ACIT, Infamous, Demon Soul's, Brutal Legend, Batman Arkham Asylum, Prototype, etc. 80% is a made up number. There are probably more sports games than fps tbh
