PS3 and Xbox 360: Which has a better game library?

Recently I bought a PS3 and I was pretty disappointed to find that the game selection feels much more limited than the 360's. Of course I realize that the PS3 still has great games such as MGS4 and Uncharted. But the Xbox 360 just has so much more. I was even more disappointed when I found out that FF13 and the new MGS game would also be on the 360. At the current rate, it seems it would be wiser for me to sell my PS3 for a Xbox Elite ( I heard failure rates are down, and XBL > PSN ). Your thoughts?

If I could only own one, it would probably be 360 because of JRPGs, PC ports and overall better variety (PS3 still doesn't have a simracer).

360. It has exclusives, PC ports and more RPGs. Of course it all boils down to opinion.

Depends on what kinds of games you like. God of War and Shadow of the Colossus are my top 2 favorite games, and since GOW III and Last Guardian are on their way, it's a no brainer for me. I'm more of an adventure type of gamer. :D

You couldn't be more wrong....stop looking at just the "popluar" mainstream games and look at the entire library. First off for ps3 you have 80% of the same multiplats as 360 games like re5, dead space, mirrors edge , cod, etc... MGs4 is an epic and mg rising doesn't have snake and will also be on the ps3. MS popular games are halo and gears and fable...the 360 shelf has more games and a lot of shovel ware and old games from 2005-06 before the ps3 was even out. The ps3 exclusive library is fantastic and have many more impressive games, if all you see are two games you must not of done your homework. i own a 360 and a wii. guess why i don't own a ps3. thats right! it doesn't have a big game lbrary. sell your ps3 and with the money get a wii. 360+wii=perfect combo.

I hope people don't see that picture as legitimate. (No Platformer Genre, Where's AAAE LBP? Ratchet, Heavenly Sword, Eye Of Judgement, not to mention PSN titles.)

Anyways TC, do whatever, you seem to think that multiplats are exclusive.

If you are asking which has the better library, the 360 does...BUT that's looking at the old games it aquired since launch.

If you are talking about recently, the PS3 does.

Both are fantastic consoles, and are practically neck and neck. You seem to down the PS3 for having multiplats, but praise the 360 for having them.

So, do whatever, since it appears you haven't felt the "Grass is Greener " side yet.

Most of the PSN exclusive games are mediocre at best. Fat Princess is the only worthwhile right now and XBLA has MUCH better games than that.

Ninja Gaiden with out the blood and gore makes about as much sense as taking blood and gore out of Mortal Kombat and Gears of War. Have fun with the "superior" family friendly Ninja Gaiden.

It still has blood, and gore, just like sigma 1 did... ng2 was the odd ball... if you don't like it play the less content lower res graphics and bad camera game on the 360..I will be enjoying the super smooth game ngs2 on ps3.

The truth is the 360 has more and better exclusives than the PS3. Also, the online is superior on so many levels and multi-plats are always better on the 360. 'Nuff said.I_Can_Do_Magic

Well, it's not rocket science. Lemmings suck up to anything with 'Halo' on the box. The Halo brand had a history of good ratings, i'll give you that. So naturally, people assumed Halo Wars would be of the same quality as the predecessors, and probably bought it based on hype alone. That still doesn't mean the game is 'worth checking out'.

oh yeah, in Gamespot, any AAA hyped title getting below 8.0 is a flop. That's just the way it is.

The game got a good score? 6.5 is good to you? Your standards are low. And here, in gamespot, any title hyped AAA which gets below 8.0 is a flop. That's the way it was for Lair, Haze and even Heavenly Sword, which got 8.0. If you want to argue sales and subjective preferences to a particular game, then we gonna have to do that for every other game now won't we? And basically, such discussions never conclude well, so the doctrine we have here in gamespot is that if gamespot' score is waaay below the hyped score, the game is a flop. Accept it or find another board.

Its subjective. I do enjoy ps3 exclusives more.

360 has more games in general, more choices from 2005-06.

PS3 has more and sometimes better exclusives.

actually tbh, I was a bit suprised at how small the PS3's library seemed too. When I got my slim its section of the stor (game crazy) was about a third the size of 360 and Wii's. It still has plenty of quality titles, but I feel that 360 slightly edges it out.

yes Kameo dominates all, WHile Nuts and Bolts is still my favorite game this gen, I do agree that it does have a lot mroe racing aspects then platforming.

But you must also not forget about Shadow complex. i think that counts as a platformer :P

This isn't about preference, this is about the 360 having a better game in every genre. This is about determining what's better by review scores, either here, or even at Metacritic/GR. This is about every major genre the 360 has in the bag. Forget Ratchet, Banjo, and Kameo...LBP owns all of those.

In any event, it's obvious the 360 does NOT have a better game in EVERY major genre at this point.

its got the PC/360 games - mass effect, left 4 dead,gears,etc.

and its got the 1 year head start games - dead rising, condemned, graw,cod2, etc.
