PS3: Best thing to happen to gaming since the NES? (VERY good read)

I mean guys, cmon seriously, I think we all here subconciously want a PS3. Don't get me wrong, I'm a proud owner of my Xbox 360 and a future owner of a PLAYSTATION 3, but the PLAYSTATION 3 is just a better system overall. The PLAYSTATION 3 trumps the 360 on just about every level that I can think of.

The PLAYSTATION 3 is a revolution. It is truly next-gen, its reliable hardware wise, touch sensitive buttons, a controller with BOTH rumble and awesome Six-axis functions, multimedia BEAST, powerful Cell Broadband Engine and Reality Synthesiszer GPU chip that work in PERFECT HARMONY, and let's not forget the most important....home to the BEST and MOST popular franchises every to hit a gaming console ever. Yes, that's right. Halo 3 has nothing on Gran Turismo and all the other games that outsell it.

Gran Turismo 5, releasing next year, is the highest selling franchise on the Playstation platform, next to GTA series. How can someone resist the temptation that is the PLAYSTATION 3? Don't lie Lemmings, you know you want to have a PLAYSTATION 3 to play games like MGS4, GT5, GTAIV, Haze, UT3, UNCHARTED, Resistance, MOTORSTORM, Heavenly Sword, MLB: The Show, Socom, DMC4, Warhawk, Wipeout, LBP, FFXIII, FFXIII VS, GOW3, and so much more.

The PLAYSTATION 3 is just getting started. I forsee a bright future ahead. A lot of people have complained about the price, no worries, on November 2nd you will be able to purchase the most powerful next-gen console ever made for $399, no hidden fees either. No $50 a year for mediocre online, no $20 to charge your damn controller while you play, just old-fashioned fun. So I ask, why haven't you jumped in yet?

the only possible reason i would get a ps3 would be to watch black hawk down on blu-ray. other than that... nothing. mgs and ff are great but not worth buying a system for.

I think what you are trying to say is, PS3 has the most potential this gen -- and it does.

But at the moment, I don't think anyone really wants to spend $500-600 because it hasn't proven itself yet. We will have to see what effect the $400 model has.

It isn't the best thing for me however. I am a huge RPG fan, as of now the 360 is expected to get more between this year and next year. I'm not sure about 2009 and on, quite frankly I really don't care either.

Unless some of you fanboys would like to tell me what RPGs are going to be coming out on the PS3 that are confirmed. I don't want to see "Atlus Project #1" or something along the lines of that.

The Last Remnant is multiplat and Final Fantasy XIII isn't expected until late 2008 at the earliest. The Xbox 360 has Mass Effect, Infinite Undiscovery, Lost Odyssey, Fable 2, and others.

No you are. It started at a very high price point so they had to lower the price and did everything they could to lower it. You wont be seing many price cut from now on and if you see expect them to be 50$ max and thats generous. The ps3 will prob be 200$ at the end of generation when the Ps4 is already out...
