About it being best down the road is still not even right. That's wishful thinking at best. We all know technical specs do not save a game console from flopping, and we all know a brand name can shoot itself in the foot easily and tarnish themselves (look what happend to Sega & Atari). There's not even any certainty that PS3's disc format will be supported as Blu-Ray and HD-DVD is still up for debate.

PS3 is nothing more than a big risk. Any serious gamer would know to stay away from consoles like this.

The PLAYSTATION 3 trumps the 360 on just about every level that I can think of.

*Shall we talk about games? Nah, we have been there 1000X before. 360 has by far the best game lineup of the next gen systems. You even list several 360 games when you attempt to make the PS3 games library seem more compelling than it is.

*Xbox live is a vastly superior online service. While the PS3's online is indeed free, you get what you pay for.

*Xbox has Halo. And Madden. And GTA4 (someday). Those are the three games that matter most.

But I regress, I'm sure that your next gen console is not really about games, but rather the blue ray movies, right? Go PS3! LOL at X360 and 4 disk games!!!! LOL!!!!!!!

It isn't the best thing for me however. I am a huge RPG fan, as of now the 360 is expected to get more between this year and next year. I'm not sure about 2009 and on, quite frankly I really don't care either.

Unless some of you fanboys would like to tell me what RPGs are going to be coming out on the PS3 that are confirmed. I don't want to see "Atlus Project #1" or something along the lines of that.

My PS3 is an ok console and all, but it's still no real competition for my 360 in either games, online capability, controller, time played and most importantly fun.

It's not a tough call right now as the 360 is so much better atm but hopefully that will change in the future.

If you are stuck with only one system make it the 360 until there are actual reasons for buying a PS3 other than future potential.

Yes, weird isn't it? I looked at both consoles and the Xbox 360 has more confirmed RPGs. However, I haven't really liked Oblivion, so im not even sure if im going to like the other western RPGs. If it turns out that they don't appeal to me, then i'll just sell my 360 and put it towards a PS3. I love it because that future they speak of never comes, the next gen consoles of Ninty and MS is going to own it anyway. Sony took a big risk releasing Blu-ray on a console, and it was a smart move, being half the price and such. But when you try to please everyone you are likely to fail or end up truly pleasing 1 group. Just like Big N, difficulty in all games from them have decreased largely and the Wii is aimed at EVERYONE, but looks who get them, mostly 6-13 year olds.

more =/= better, XBL > PSN - simple math really

the only thing you can do is speculate. none of the ps3's "big guns" have been realeased. the thing we do know is that right now the 360's line up is much, much better than the ps3's and most multiplats look and run better on the 360.
