PS3>360

Come on, we all know that already. Halo is the biggest bugget game for the 360 and it looks average.

Show me a 360 gameplay video that has a lot of things going on at the same time like Lair. Show me a game that that can be compared to Heavenly Sword, Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank. Even Resistance has more things going on at the same time than any other 360 game.

Please SHOW ME. I don't want you to post game Tittles or Screenshots. I want gameplay videos.

I will honestly tell you if i'm impress with what I see.

Please show gameplay videos of some REAL games. I've seen videos those games and I was not impressed. Besides, there is nothing impressive about Zombies walking all over the place. They probably don't have any AI until you get real close to them.

PS3... 360 just went the wrong way with shared memory never ever will it hit its potential, If it wasnt shared as where most of you say ps3's ram sucks!, Actually 256MB at 3.2ghz destroys 360s ram, plus the gpus are even till again i say shared memory and since devs are getting the better with the cell...

EDIT: For people who dont understand the ram im not sure exactly how much memory can processed per second, but it means it can break down the memory 4.5x faster then the 360 can plus its not shared...

When I was thinking about about Lair, I was not talking about the soldiers in the ground. I was thinking about all those Dragons and Explosion everywhere. Now that you mention it, there is a lot more soldiers in Lair than Zombies in Dead Rising. I'm even more impressed now.

This is another Chad Wardenn thread. The only thing missing is the Jim Jones "We Fly High" nonsense playing in the background. I own both consoles. They are both great. The PS3 is lacking in quality titles, but the PS2 back library more than makes up for it. For those who are trashing Halo 3, what was the budget for Lair? Lair is looking to be yet another SCEA big budget flop. As an owner of both consoles, here is my take: Both the PS3 and 360 are great gaming platforms. The 360 has a vastly superior library so far. I guess you can beeyotch about the $50 per year price tag for a Live account if you want. LBP looks like it will appeal to people who like to play with stuffed animals. Heavenly Sword better by fokking sweet. That's all I know.

First of all, if your going to make fun of textures, you should have chosen a better looking game. The ground texture was really bad but the buildings were cool though. The game looked really slow paced. What was up with the sound? It sounded weak. Only one enemy at a time? The max that I saw was 3-4 jets. "Where was the Carpet-Bombing" part?

A game that I could comapare it to is Warhawk. Warhawk destroys Ace Combat 6 and I'm not even including the ground Combat in Warhawk.

Your logic is amazing! Why would I read about something when I could see it with my own eyes. I want you to read every preview and not the Review of Lair or any other PS3 game and tell me that again. I have read nothing but good stuff from the previews of Lair and you guys keep making fun of it.

hell I don't even have to bother mentioning gears. The 360 in it's first 10 months had better looking games than the ps3 in it's first 10 month.

Most of what we seen conserning graphics on the ps3 is always before the game is released, but once the game comes out we learn it was all pretty much hype. When it comes to multiplats the 360's always look slightly better, or atleast comparible. The only exception being Oblivion which doesn't look any better, but loads game objects quicker and at further distances (due to 4.2 gigs of the game being on the HDD.)

Some facts about hardware.

Media Disc drives: The ps3's blu-ray no doubt give developers room to put a ton of stuff into their game, but unfortunately the disc speed is gimped to a speed even slower than DVD-9 so developers can't load information any faster than they can on the 360, nor can they save prossessing power by using uncompressed assets. This means the only advantage you get from blu-ra is longer HD cut scenes which cost alot of time and money. Today most developers are switching to cut scenes that use the in-game engine (similar to machinima). This looks fairly with cutting edge graphics, and saves alot of cash, and time.

HDD: I don't know the speed of the HDD for either but I'm guessing they used 4200 rpm which is still quite alot faster than a disc drive. The difference of this can be seen in the two versions of Oblivion since the entire game is practically loaded on the ps3 HDD. Since MS is so hell bent on supporting the Core developers have to work both options. I really don't see why 360 HDD users can't load up 4.2 gigs for their version of Oblivion though?? I guess Bethesda figured the game ran fine as is (and it pretty much does).

CPU: really the two cpu's are apples and bannanas trying to compare them spec for spec is down right idiotic. While the cell does destroy Xenon for a few specific prossesses hardly any of those are used for game type programming. While the cell does work well with traditional AI, game AI is nothing like that, and the cell is no more better than running game AI statements then Xenon. If you go with general computing the Cell has an advantage but as far as the needs of game computing go there's not much difference.

RAM: While both have a total of 512mb, the ps3's uses 256 of much faster ram. Of course splitting up the types of ram does gimp that advantage quite a bit, and it also causes problems on the development side of things also since you can only load 256mb onto a single resource. The basic difference is having 2 toy boxes vs 1 toy box. With the 1 toy box you can just throw everything in there no worries, and with the ps3 you'll need to organize things a bit more to keep it from crashing.

GPU - Well RSX can push more polygons, but Xenos can push more verticies, and most people don't even know what I'm talking about here so I'll just say this. They are pretty much the same, and the only thing that makes one have an advantage over the other is API's. Personally being a PC gamer I like DX API's, but Sony has made great improvements over their API's in past generations.

Media Disc drives: The ps3's blu-ray no doubt give developers room to put a ton of stuff into their game, but unfortunately the disc speed is gimped to a speed even slower than DVD-9 so developers can't load information any faster than they can on the 360, nor can they save prossessing power by using uncompressed assets. This means the only advantage you get from blu-ra is longer HD cut scenes which cost alot of time and money. Today most developers are switching to cut scenes that use the in-game engine (similar to machinima). This looks fairly with cutting edge graphics, and saves alot of cash, and time.

HDD: I don't know the speed of the HDD for either but I'm guessing they used 4200 rpm which is still quite alot faster than a disc drive. The difference of this can be seen in the two versions of Oblivion since the entire game is practically loaded on the ps3 HDD. Since MS is so hell bent on supporting the Core developers have to work both options. I really don't see why 360 HDD users can't load up 4.2 gigs for their version of Oblivion though?? I guess Bethesda figured the game ran fine as is (and it pretty much does).

CPU: really the two cpu's are apples and bannanas trying to compare them spec for spec is down right idiotic. While the cell does destroy Xenon for a few specific prossesses hardly any of those are used for game type programming. While the cell does work well with traditional AI, game AI is nothing like that, and the cell is no more better than running game AI statements then Xenon. If you go with general computing the Cell has an advantage but as far as the needs of game computing go there's not much difference.

RAM: While both have a total of 512mb, the ps3's uses 256 of much faster ram. Of course splitting up the types of ram does gimp that advantage quite a bit, and it also causes problems on the development side of things also since you can only load 256mb onto a single resource. The basic difference is having 2 toy boxes vs 1 toy box. With the 1 toy box you can just throw everything in there no worries, and with the ps3 you'll need to organize things a bit more to keep it from crashing.

GPU - Well RSX can push more polygons, but Xenos can push more verticies, and most people don't even know what I'm talking about here so I'll just say this. They are pretty much the same, and the only thing that makes one have an advantage over the other is API's. Personally being a PC gamer I like DX API's, but Sony has made great improvements over their API's in past generations.

Ok then please explain how Killzone 2 has the best lighting out of any console game? And MGS4 looks to be the best graphic game there is for any console plus 360 will be bottlenecked from shared memory anyways and dvd 9, Also your ram statement is a joke... say 360 is using 256MB for gpu and 256 for ram 360 has a MUCH higher chance to crash because it can not process that data fast enough only being 700mhz... where ps3 is 3.2ghz process that data 4.5x faster... but then again 360 can never use its full 512MB because its shared....

hell I don't even have to bother mentioning gears. The 360 in it's first 10 months had better looking games than the ps3 in it's first 10 month.

Most of what we seen conserning graphics on the ps3 is always before the game is released, but once the game comes out we learn it was all pretty much hype. When it comes to multiplats the 360's always look slightly better, or atleast comparible. The only exception being Oblivion which doesn't look any better, but loads game objects quicker and at further distances (due to 4.2 gigs of the game being on the HDD.)

Where do I begin? I already talked about Dead Rising so i'll skip that. Since you think that you know about technical stuff, I wasn't a smart idea to show Dead Rising.

Moving on to Condemned. That game looks really good to the common gamer. If you payed attention, the game hides a lot of bad textures in the dark. If you watch the part where he climbs a ladder, he gets close and personal with the bad textures. You could even see bad textures when he's hitting the bad guys with a stick.

Besides, I'm wasn't talking about textures. I was talking about things going on at the same time. Condemned is a perfect example of the rest of the 360 games. *Walk into a small room and kill 1-2 bad guys* Can you at least show me something that I can compare to Resistance. With the amount of things going on at the same time. I would prefer to see something exclusive.

You are forgetting that there is not a horror game currently out for the PS3 unless you count a really bad port of FEAR.

You are also forgetting that Condemned 2 is coming out for the PS3 which is going to look better than Condemned of course.

Okay let me get this straight, you just posted that Condemned video to degrade the 360? Or to promote it? I'm a little confused.

That's the worst lighting effects I've seen in a while, if you're not too blind, watch it again, you can clearly see triangular textures from lighting hitting certain areas. Condemned is a complete mess, and does not have any type of complex lighting effects, I'm sorry.

Serious Sam can be played on 360 with backwards compatibility, and it has lots of things going on at the same time, with waves of dozens, maybe hundreds of monsters. So obviously, its the best game ever and 360 > PS3.

ok since people are going to be fanboys about the vids lets look at this from a logical perspective.

The ps3 support 1 billion verticies, and the 360 supports 1.5 billion. That means from a graphical perspective you're looking at 500million independent triangles for the 360 vs 333.3 million on the ps3. So that means the 360 can support roughly 33% more polygons meaning more characters, and better detailed character. The only advantage that RSX has is that it lack so many other resource consuming options on the GPU that they don't have to worry about including them.

Now from the texture side since both use 512 ram there's no advantage to one or the other when it comes to the details of the textures, or the amount of textures that can be supported. The ps3 marketing team my try to convince you that it's blu-ray lets developers use hi-resolution textures, but really it's the ram that would limit this not the media.

Come on, we all know that already. Halo is the biggest bugget game for the 360 and it looks average.

Show me a 360 gameplay video that has a lot of things going on at the same time like Lair. Show me a game that that can be compared to Heavenly Sword, Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank. Even Resistance has more things going on at the same time than any other 360 game.

Please SHOW ME. I don't want you to post game Tittles or Screenshots. I want gameplay videos.

I will honestly tell you if i'm impress with what I see.
