First off, im not supporting piracy, but the PS3 is now just as open as the PSP, you can not patch this, its impossible, GT5 has now been cracked, so have many other 3.50 games

PS3 piracy will be higher than the Xbox 360, so many 3rd party exclusives will go multi-platform

i have a strong feeling Final Fantasy Versus 13 will go multi-plat now, im not okay with this, since the Xbox 360 will gimp it just as it gimped FF13

You do realize a lot of 3rd party exclusives have gone multiplat, and that multiplatform orientation has taken part for most of this generation... Right?

Are there even that many 3rd party exclusives this gen? FFV13, like any FF game for me is a no buy, never play as it doesn't interest me. But, this doesn't surprise me. Impossible is temporary.

3rd party exclusives were already going extinct due to high development cost. Microsoft is losing 3rd party exclusives as well. The only place you will continue to see 3rd party exclusives is smaller down loadable games that don't cost a ton of money to develop.

So let me get this straight. Pircay will take away any PS3 3rd party exclusives, but won't take them away from the 360 and Wii? You know they've been hacked since day one right? Anyways true 3rd party exclusives are already rare due to high development cost and yes I do believe FFvs13 will go multiplat.

But they're still not 3rd party exclusives since Sony owns the IPs.

WRONG. They will not be "lost" because Sony owns the INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS to those series.

You also forgot Ratchet and Clank. It doesn't matter if Insomniac is developing the game or not.

Freaking people need to understand IP rights.

So I was right. They wouldn't be lost as an effect of piracy :? Which was my point. Due to being published (and Sony owning the rights) they couldn't go multiplatform even if piracy were rampaging over the system. Sony wouldn't allow it. Dunno why you were confused by my statement.

All-4-One is Ratchet and Clank, I just couldn't be bothered putting "Ratchet and Clank: All-4-One".

I realize I should have made it more clear to what I was trying to say. I was refering to losing the studios due to piracy, not the IP's, I wasn't trying to defend TC's point.

ff13 will go multiplat and you are not okay with it, because the xbox 360 already gimped it? ARE YOUFROM THE FUTURE?yellosnolvr

It all goes down to DVD9 space limitations, you don't need to be from the future to know that if the game goes multi it'll be heavily gimped like FFXIII that felt empty. Game design choices have to be made when you have a game scattered through multiple discs and these designs are carried over to the other consoles too, on top of that content has to be cut out...

Don't lemmings have many examples already? Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean IV, Lost Odyssey and the many PS1 Jrpg's. Just play FFXII or FFX then compare that to current gen Jrpg's, most of them are on the X360 and feel more like step backwards even though these are current gen games. In FFXIII you can't even go back to an area that was already beaten for god's sake! And in games like Star Ocean IV you need to reach certain points to switch discs and that's really annoying when doing side-quest cus you just cannot go straight to the destined area, you first need to reach the point to change discs to proceed and that's a huge design flaw brought to you by DVD9's space limitation.

Oh, and I repeat don't forget the content that is being cut-off because of DVD9. Jrpg's are very heavy on dialogue and cut-scenes and that takes lots of space and that's the main reason of why games like "Yakuza" are not on the X360. You just cannot do an open world game heavy on dialogue and cut-scenes on multiple discs, that would defeat the purpose of it being open world and FFvsXIII is that kind of game.

When a company owns a property, STUDIOS DON'T MATTER.

Look at Call of Duty and Infinity Ward/Treyarch, for example. Sony won't ever lose the Ratchet, Sly, Jak, LittleBigPlanet, Demon's Souls, Resistance, Killzone, SOCOM, Gran Turismo, Lemmings, etc. intellectual properties and they won't care which studios develop the games... just as long as a completedgame goes out the door.

3rd party exclusives are (IP)games made for exclusive for respective platform but (ip)owned by developer themselves All games you mention are owned by sony they are not 3rd party exclusives. They are made by 3rd party developers just like Halo Reach and PGR (if announced) saints row,FF,tekken would be termed as 3rd party exclusives

Just to clarify, Sony does not own theYakuza series-

Yakuza

That is all SEGA.

We've been quoting the original source's post WITHOUT Yakuza in it.

Depends on who they get to develop them. A good developer then people wouldn't care, but if they are terrible and have no quality projects under their belt then yeah people will care.

Idk though. Sony always finds a way to maintain quality in their games, or at least this gen they have. Then again I'm not sure if they've had any developmental shifts either.

SOCOM has been developed by Zipper Interactive and Slant Six.

Whenever Slant Six takes over, fans get angry.

The 3rd party exclusives already left the PS3. If piracy for it becomes as rampant as the psp, then we can say goodbye to the 10 yr lifecycle.

Aren't most 3rd party exclusives multiplat anyway?mrmusicman247
no because exclusive means only on 1 platform and multiplat means multiple platforms.
