Unfortunately, the very next level drops the psychic hedgehog into a nondescript forest setting that doesn't look any better than Sonic's ugly town, and it goes on from there. Compounding the issue is a very sketchy frame rate that slows the entire game down at seemingly random intervals. Considering the main appeal of Sonic is that he's supposed to be able to run fast, all the sluggishness really takes away from the game's already ugly presentation

lol, ps3 cant even handle sucky graphics game like sonic without framerate issues proves ps3 hardware sucks, plus sega took more development time on ps3.

No, they probably had the interns and the lady that answers the phone working on the port.

The real pros were probably developing other games.

it's not the developer it's ps3, why is oblivion downgraded? why is splinter cell downgraded? the darkness? f.e.a.r? tony hawk? call of duty 3? hmm because ps3 hardware less powerful than xbox 360 and devs did the best they can with weak ps3 hardware they could.

sega is more of a sony fan than microsoft anyway and still sucks lol.

Can you imagin what Tekken 6 is gonna look like by ways of this comparison? -drools- I can't wait to start playing Tekken: DR in 720p. Wish I had the 1080p but 720 is gonna have to do. Better than the SDTV I got.

this means all devs hype their games to be better on new platforms before platform release and it's not always true.

plus sega have closer relations to sony than microsoft, that's why fifth phantom saga was announced for ps3 before sega announced any 360 game so that means they been working with cell before 360.

sega knows how to program for ps3 than xbox 360, and no ps3 is not harder to develop for, because it has a standard pc like architecture even epicgames said ps3 has pc like architecture and said it was easy., while xbox 360 isnt like pc epicgames never mentioned 360 being easier than ps3. plus i think people use ps3 harder to dev for to make up for ps3 ram limitation flaws.

The hell? You got it mixed around, the 360 has similiar architecture to a standard PC, hence why developers like to port PC games to the 360.

no, sonic was better on xbox 360 because ps3 has ram limitations cell processor cpu can only access 256 mb ram, this less ram=downgraded graphics and framerates.

no, ps3 uses an off the shelf gpu 6800 ultra based devs have years of experience with, plus split system memory set up like pc, pc doesnt use unified memory like xbox 360, the only thing non pc like is the spu's.

epicgames has said playstation 3 is easier to develop for than xbox 360..i will not believe any other dev, because tim sweeney knows wtf he's talking about.

I remember when cows were hyping Sonic... It was good news to them... It was suppose to run smoother and look better on PS3. Till E32006... When reports of PS3 crashing at the mercy of this craptastic game. All hype from the "Cows" pretty much dies from there on out.

We all know PS3 is weak. It's not GOD. and Only hardcore "Cows" believe other wise.

Guys, This game has plenty of issues on the 360 as well as the ps3, most of the issues are exactly the same.

I remember when cows were hyping Sonic... It was good news to them... It was suppose to run smoother and look better on PS3. Till E32006... When reports of PS3 crashing at the mercy of this craptastic game. All hype from the "Cows" pretty much dies from there on out.

We all know PS3 is weak. It's not GOD. and Only hardcore "Cows" believe other wise.

I did, "alot" is not the word I would use. Read through 15 pages (375 threads) and found about 4 that had some problem with freezing,  and they returned  it and  got a  new  ps3.

I did, "alot" is not the word I would use. Read through 15 pages (375 threads) and found about 4 that had some problem with freezing,  and they returned  it and  got a  new  ps3.

lol,there's more than that freezing...my 360's only frooze 2 times ever since february 2006 and ive dropped it on the ground from like 5ft high...knocking it off entertainment center.

sonic sucks as much on the x360. It had bad frametate and constant loading. So nothing new here.joeychew

ps3 made a bad 360 game even worse ahah

The hell? You got it mixed around, the 360 has similiar architecture to a standard PC, hence why developers like to port PC games to the 360.

no, ps3 uses an off the shelf gpu 6800 ultra based devs have years of experience with, plus split system memory set up like pc, pc doesnt use unified memory like xbox 360, the only thing non pc like is the spu's.

epicgames has said playstation 3 is easier to develop for than xbox 360..i will not believe any other dev, because tim sweeney knows wtf he's talking about.



Can I get a link of Sweeney saying this :) However Carmack said it's way harder, and guess who I'm going to believe, ofcourse the father of FPS gaming John Carmack.

But there's nothing to believe, if you have little knowledge about processor architectures you'd know what a bad pick the Cell is.

john carmack hasnt even worked with ps3 yet man.

ive never seen one interview with tim sweeney maker of unreal engine 3.0 saying xbox 360 is easier to program for than ps3...ps3 has more pc like architecture...so easier for tim..hell ive never even seen him mention 360 being easy...so i dont believe a damn word people say about 360 being easier, because it uses custom api and different architecture memory/gpu edram set up than pcs...i think 360 is harder to tap full power.

even though it's a playstation 2 port, it still runs and looks better on 360  than ps2.
