[QUOTE="blitzcloud"]Normally, games that are in the 90+ on metacritic means players will ultimately enjoy them regardless the genre they like. 80s means normally that you should be inclined to like the genre. 70s, you should like the genre quite a bit or the saga itself. 60s, all of 70, plus there's some faults. 50s, same as before, with too many faults.

Actually the 90+ are games only casuals will enjoy, usually are linear and 5-7 hours cinematic titles with basic gameplay

Wow, nice way to be subtle -_-. Also, (Mario), (GTA4), MGS4, UC2, and (Zelda) have basic gameplay? I can agree about UC2, but dude, really?

Doesn't contiuous rehashing of the same gameplay become basic gameplay?

FYI , uncharted 2 has a 'horde' mode toocampzor

Oh, I forgot about that. Point is - both games provide a lot of content.

This generation sadly is true for most games

The moment Fallout Vegas went better it scored lower

The moment Mass Effect2 got more casual than ME1, scored higher

And games like Gears or U2 last an afternoon with just shooting stuff, boring as it gets

waltefmoney

Fallout New Vegas was a buggy and unoptimized mess. Buggier than it's predecessor. That's why it scored lower.

Mass Effect 2 was an improvement over the first in almost every way. It makes sense the better game would score better.

Both Gears and Uncharted have multiplayer, Gears has horde mode. They provide a lot of content.

That is my point, that polish level matters more inscores more than the actual core game, which is a joke for a real gamer like me

I definatly prefer a great game than a polished one, but the scores are nearly always inversly proportional

Vegas was better than Fallout 3 and ME1 was better than ME2, so the biggest scoring ones are the worst ones

as for Gears and U2, they do have multi, but is not the same as the single player campaign and i dont play online, so for me are one day rent titles

ME2 is so much better than ME1. I agree about New Vegas being better than Fallout 3 though.

As for Gears 2 and Uncharted 2, both have great campaigns with lots of replayability.

"Real Gamer"*face-palm*...... and besides , UC is known for its SP. which is why it got high scores. Vegas was glitchy , while ME2 catered to shooters.

Which is fine, since the best games this generation are the 7.5-9.0 scoring ones and the worst the 9+ ones, for me at least that dont like 5 hour repeatitivegames and only rent them

"New"? In that case the 3 enclosed games are basic gameplay.

ME1 is a better game IMO, Mass Effect 2 just felt like i was rushing the combat to get to the next conversation, exactly the same with DA2 (though the combat is more enjoyable than that in origins) Bioware are better at stories and characters than they are at actual gameplay. I loved Fallout 3, but got bored with Fallout New Vegas after a few hours, is it worth a full playtthrough would you say>?

It depends on luck really. My first playthrough went fine at all with only one glitch( my companion died from a fly -_-). But my 2nd play was chocked full of glitches. I could only play 2 hours before I got a game ending glitch.

What a weak argument. First you dealt in absolutes. Like 99%, all games 90+ are for casuals and so on. But now features don't matter if you're not going to use them? egocentrism much? I, for example, don't care about certain type of games, but I can appreciate their features even if I don't use them/play it. And I would expect a reviewer to take account of them when reviewing, for the sake of being a bit objective.

Could not be more wrong... Only the most hardcore of the hardcore, or more 'Otaku' gamers would play something like MGS4...
