It appears that the only reason that the 360 is getting the GTA series on their system too, is because its R* worn out franchise. Yep, thats right, R* is moving on to better series. R* announced that they are developing what they call "the next big series" exclusive to the PS3 system. So now Sony is getting 2 exclusives from R*, this and L.A. Noire. I wonder how MS is feeling know that they know they paid $50 million for content on a dying franchise? :| :) :Dsnorlaxmasterhaha "dying", I bet sales show otherwise..
like I said, it could just be a table tennis type game...HewkiiThen why would R* say that its the "next big franchise"??????? Even R* knows a good quality game when they see one....
we get a new bully game.xjet039yea they tried to make it up to you guys by giving you a remake so you have something to play while ps3 owners are playing "the next big series"
we get a new bully game.xjet039No you get a port of a PS2 game. Sooner or later they will make the true sequal exclusively on the PS3 any way.

Sooner or later they will make the true sequal exclusively on the PS3 any way.And your proof of this is...? Sony fans often assume that, at the first sign of support for the PS3, the developer or publisher in question is committing to the PS3 for all of their titles. It's a business, and they're here to make money, not to inflate whatever platform you happen to be cheerleading.

jack trenton says ,in an interview with Geoff keighley, that this is the reason they gave up gta4 as an exclusive
This new ip must be good if sony was willing to let gta4 go to 360...

There have been many cases that devs say that they perfer Sony over the other companies because they are easy and friendly to deal with in case they have problems. Even more so now with the Edge and internal studios working with other devs to make a game the best it can. And besides, you get a sequal of a 2 year old game and magically the series has chosen the path of multiplat??? The sequal may end up on the 360, about 2 years after the PS3 version......just like the last one. :D

eah i remember reading this somewhere and thats awsome, but GTA series is no where near dieing so dude please edit that part of the sentence it makes you look dumb......Blanco98It is done man........i was just basing it off of the past two games, maybe GTA IV will prove different though.......Sweet avatar man!!! Lol :P
Developing a new series does not mean that developer's series is "worn out". They simply want to make a new series. Unless Rockstar specifically said Grand Theft Auto was worn out, your claims are are groundless. Was the Hitman series worn out when IO went to make Freedom Fighters? Was Devil May Cry worn out because Capcom decided to publish Viewtiful Joe?
There is no ownage in a console getting an exclusive franchise. Otherwise each console has been owned numerous times for getting a game no other console gets, which makes no sense whatsoever.

1st, you failed when you said GTA is a "worn out" series. GTA IV is on the most anticipated games list, along with Halo 3, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, MGS 4, and SSBD.
2nd, in all your replies, you haven't ONCE provided a LINK to this supposed new R* IP going exclusively to PS3. Either provide that or admit ownage right now.

Wow...if i recall correctly, Halo is a very short game, although the MP does add extra play........but still, R* has always delivered a deep experience in their games that no game can match, not even HALO 3!!!!!they don't care, they get halo 3.

Are you really trying to downplay GTA for a game that could possibly be as big of a hit as Table Tennis?

Table Tennis.
The point of the news wasn't that GTA was "worn out." That's just crazy talk. What they're saying is that Sony IS exclusive to the next Take Two/Rockstar franchise. That Sony started with Tomb Raider on PSOne, and that was a hit, and they let it go (I know, not rockstar). Then, on PS2, they had GTA and that was a hit and they let it go. And now, on PS3, they'll have the next big franchise, it'll be a hit, and eventually it will go elsewhere.
There's no denying this is big news for PS3. Buuuut, that doesn't change current status and how successful GTA4 will be on both 360 and PS3.

Touche. But like others have said pointing out Table Tennis, you should approach hype of a completely unknown franchise with caution. Might turn out to be R* presents Curling :P

Oh come now. We know it's Rockstar presents Badmitton
Dude, I'm as excited as you, but GTA is hardly "worn out" even if it is old.

True i may be hyping it a little too much....but you and i both know that they aren't going to make a Curling game that will "take advantage of the cell" the whole reason of this game is to use the power of the cell as best as they can. They will not just make a Table Tennis clone.....:DJust because they haven't done good, that doesn't mean they're bad games.
Manhunt, Midnight Club, Bully, and Red Dead Revolver are awesome.
well...first off the GTA series is far from dead or "going away"
with every release after GTA3, there have been crowds of people predicting the downfall of the next chapter.....of how people are just going to get tired of the series. the reality is, that rockstar reinvents the series with each and every new version.
secondly i really wish people would quit looking for reasons for other gamers to be sorry they bought their system.
yah the 360 is getting some extra content....but we dont know what it is or if the ps3 isnt getting their own kind of exclusive stuff (phil harrison has stated they are)....this doent make the PS3 version any lesser than the 360
and yah it sounds like the PS3 is gonna get 2 exclusive titles but neither are known quantities....so they could both suck and not even hold a candle to GTA series.
so in the long run lets all just be glad we get to play the games were getting, becasue this is one of the best seasons of games ever!
