Wait, you mean the sameGRAW team that had the 360 version of GRAW 2come out in March? The same one that has yet to release GRAW 2 on the PS3? They said the PS3 isn't any harder to develop for? I don't beleive you.PBSnipes
yea u do no that the ps3 eversion of the game started later in development, which merans the game wasnt nearly as finished as the 360 version because they started on them at diffrenty tims. why do u think we never got screen shots of the ps3 version back then. u do no that ps3 devs kits came out later, and u do no that ps3 came out after 360, and u do no that this is there first game on the ps3, and this is the secound graw on the 360?

Well on the same token whey is UT3 or Haze being delayed on the X360 then? Because it's harder to develope for?
It's an intresting article.

since they're saying the ps3 is not hard to dev for, if ps3 games continue to lag behind the 360 in graphics, it'll be proof the hardware of the ps3 is subpar to that of the 360, imo....
then again, i never had a doubt....

Wh are UT3 and Haze "delayed"...
your joking right
No, I'm trying to make you think. If as you say a game being delayed strickly means it was more difficult to develope for, then doesn't that mean Haze and UT3 being delayed till next year for the X360 equate to it being more difficult to make those games on the X360?
The answer is no. To elaborate, it all depends where you are FOCUSING your resources on. In this case X360 had the game worked on FIRST then the PS3 was next. Just like Ubi is working on Haze for PS3 first, then X360 will be next. Epic is using their resources to make the PS3/PC version first and then next year they will focus on the X360. That's exactly what the Epic devs have said so I'm not making it up.
Yes one must get aquainted with the hardware, that is common sense. But the point the developer is trying to make is the PS3 is NO MORE difficult to develope games on then it is on the X360. I too thought Sony has made an impossible console (I've said it before in my posts) because of all the delays. I'm actaully a little relieved after reading the devs comments.

Didn't Infinity hire the top PS3 programmers in the world to get it at 60FPS? :|

there's a difference between "time released" and "delayed". UT3 and Haze had been announced as ps3 for this year and 360 for net at the same time(hench time released). GRAW 2 for the ps3 was supposed to be out back in June ...it's august....that's called a delay.....
Someone should tell them that GRAW 2 isnt out for PS3 yet

Someone should tell this guy that PS3 came out a YEAR later than the 360.
[QUOTE="wiistation360"]thats why cows are still waiting for graw 2 for months?sainraja
Maybe, they didn't start developing the game for the PS3 until GRAW2 was released for the 360.

No. They were all announced at the same time, hench development was at the same time....now tell me how all the other versions were released on time while the ps3's verison is still not out yet?

I dont believe that for a second, besides the countless numbers of proof by developer claims, sony developing Playstation Edge, Optimizing the UE3 engine specifically with Epic, Rainbow Six, GRAW 2, DIRT, Dtranglehold, all being delayed...
THEN, EA developers, Konami, countless experianced devs who work with both hardware telling ME, in lectures and powerpoints how much of a pain in the ASS the PS3 is due to its architechture to make crap run smoothly
the bottom line is, the PS3 is harder to dev for, this GRAW 2 dev is...on drugs
UT3 and Haze are on Timed contracts, theres nothing to do with hard developing, or delays in those two games
OH SO YOU HAVE DEVELOPED FOR THE PS3.....WOOOOW. SO I GUESS YOU NO ALLOT
whats your game called

I hope those guys didn't suffer from whiplash from all that spin.
"It's wrong to say it's harder to code on the PlayStation 3, it's just something that needs to be learnt"
"It's not harder to develop on the PS3 than it is on the 360, it's just a different console. Developers might says it's harder because it just takes time to understand the technology, we're still early in the lifecycle."
It's pretty much the same thing as saying it's harder.
Semantics. Especially considering GRAW came out on 360 3-4 months from the console's launch.
 lmaoThis is good news actually.

Wheres Graw 2 for PS3?
-UT3 and haze are timed exclusives, and because they wouldnt sell well with bioshock and halo 3 being the great sellers.

Ninja Gaiden team also came out and said anyone who says the PS3 is hard to develop on and things can't be done are just lazy developers.

My thoughts exactly. Development started later for the PS3 version plus they had to get used to the new architecture.
I'm sure that developers won't lie. The PS3 is not "hard" to develope for once programmers learn the infrastructure. But this should be obvious with new technology. Anyone that actually thinks the 360 is a superior console for multiplat games is highly mistaken.
[QUOTE="Riki101"]so its not harder? and the games still better on 360 so cows, whats your excuse to this?

IT IS HARDER, WHY WOULD GRAW 2 BE DELAYED
omg people
Probably to space out all the Tom Clancy releases that happened this summer. FIrst SC DA then Rainbow Six then GRAW 2. They didnt wanna release them all at once and hurt eachothers sales.

thats not what the article is saying.Nothing they're saying should be that surprising. They're saying that if you write an actual next-gen, multi-threaded engine, you shouldn't have a problem on the PS3 or the 360. Multicore is here to stay, and programmers have to get used to it. Whining about how its more difficult than the single-core PC days of yore isn't going to change anything.Teufelhuhn
John Carmack disagrees. Multicore is not the only thing that is hurthing the PS3. It also has RAM problems.

But not back to back like they were scheduled for the PS3 originally. I remember when Gamestop had SP:DA, Rainbow Six, and GRAW for March.

When working on multiple plats simultaneously (like withid Tech 5 or Quakewars), it is a royal pain in the ass to have to slow down dev time and change the base textures and shadowing to accomodate the platform with the weakest RAM.
Carmack said that the PS3 version of Quakewars was 7 months behind the others because of this. Seven ****ing months.

Have any proof of that? UT3 has been delayed by my understanding from limitations due to DVD-9 (really more like 6.8 on 360) and Microsofts stubborness with regards to mods.
Why was it delayed so long then.
Blackbond
It wasn't delayed. Work started on it well after the 360 version. Just like oblivion and R6 Vegas and every other multiplatform game.
Here is a hint. The 360 came out a year ahead of the PS3. You could also try reading the article instead of being a fanboy or did the flashing lights on the front of your console brainwash you.
