No, seriously, UC2 is the only game to combine most of the gaming elements and combine it into a near perfect package. GeOW has the TPS elements down packed as well though.

I don't care about Gears and won't until they release them on PC as well. I was going to get Gears 1 until they decided not to release Gears 2 on PC. Why should I bother with Gears 1 if I can't follow the the rest of the series?

Nope not really...Im not saying Uncharted is ORIGINAL because honestly nowadays its extremely hard to be original with all the ideas that have been done before. What I am saying that what it does it does perfectly (acting, story, animations, and EVERY technical aspect of the game (moving train sequence etc). Its an opinion bro...deal with it. It wasnt a mistake that some unknown PS3 IP won so many awards and was praised so heavily. I think it still holds the record for awards won, plus GOTY? Good day sir.

Compared to most of the games coming out this year, TM is still pretty original, as no other car combat games are competing with it. And it's production values look pretty high, too. If I'm not mistaken, TM: Black had some of the best graphics on the PS2, at least throughout the first half of the PS2's lifespan.

Have you not seen Gears 3? Its actually quite colorful. In fact, the Oldtown map looks like something plucked straight out of Uncharted 2. There is a lot of dark and gritty in the Gears series, but that fits the tone of the game. It would be kind of dumb if it were all colorful like Tales of Vesperia or something.

Gears isn't a platformer. Its a straight up TPS with a bunch of action sequences mixed in.

The characters have plenty of personality, they're just not as likable as Drake and pals.

There's a lot more to Gears than just bashing doors... and even when you're solving a puzzle you're just "pressing buttons." lol

Anyway, you forgot a few things:

Mutants, Monsters, and Alien Freaks VS Bandits, Thieves, and Mercenaris.

Kicks and Punches VS curbstomping, decapitation, chainsawing, ripping off limbs, meat shields, and dozens of other bloody executions.

Gritty scifi action VS Indiana Jones pt. 7 :P

I love both Uncharted and Gears, and think they are both very enjoyable in their own right. It all boils down to what you're into, I guess.

Im glad to see you so hyped, TC, but lets get real. This isnt even on Uncharted 2 level.
