The point is that the 360 is not doing so well either.
Next time readthrough the thread, it might help.
If 360 sales are slow, it's because they have reached to saturation point of people willing to pay $400 for a console.
Proof? No? Go away.
My early estimation (last 2 years) has been 80 mil PS3 sold by the end of its lifespan.
I think it'll be a few million more now. Maybe 90-100. But I don't think 2nd place will be that far behind (like last gen), it'll be closer.

So where would you rather be at a slow point in sales, 7 months after launch or 19 months after launch? Face it, the 360 is selling better, you cows are too afraid too admit it...
Sony isn't going to have any exclusive content with its saddening sales right now. But Ken was almost right about the 5 million sales with no games. It's no doubt a great deal. I was at best buy the other day shopping for some new headphones (bad idea) and decided to demo a ps3. I look at the 499.99/599.99 advertised price and kinda shuddered, then turned around and saw a blu ray player at 799.99 and chuckled to myself as my friend talked about buying a PS3 because he wants a blu ray player to go with his massive 1080p TV, not because of the games at all...
Ken was a grade A winner till he got fired, I mean left, I mean stayed with Sony but isn't getting paid. (to appease cows).

Well...we for once dont have to make excuses for our games and sales. Face it, no system is ever going to match the PS2 sales,so the PS3 isnt even going to lick its toes. But 360 and Wii will be the strong contenders in this war.

you lemmings are in major damage control. i find it funny that you guys think ps3 sales will remain at the 80k mark every month. you guys are really grasping. sales willl pick up as the life of the console increases cause as phil said it's about content. ps2 and psone both sales picked up as the years went on not down like you see what has happened to 360. ms should just quit while they are behind and leave the console making to the two kings of video games sony and nintendo.-Renegade

Well sir. Previous PS consoles didnt cost $600 either. The high price, lack of games, and multiplats you can get for $200 cheaper dont help the PS3's plight.

OK...360 is behind in sales???....how many consoles has PS3 sold....almost if not3.57 Mill

Wow. Fanboy meltdowns are always a sad sight to see
The PS2 sold 1 million its first weekend in Japan. The PS3 has barely broken a million after 7 months.
The PS2 averaged 300k a month sales when it first launched in NA. The PS3 can't even breat 90k.
The PS2 had 7 AAA games at this time in its life. The PS3 only has 1.
But keep on waiting ;)

No console will ever break PS2 sales? That's a dumb statement.
I believe the PS3 and 360 will sell around the same numer of consoles and Wii will have more than both of them.

If these statistics are correct.. im assuming ps3 will easily win the console war.. compare it to the ps2, xbox and gamecube war - NOT to mention that the ps3 has only used 20% of its power and the 360 using well over 60% of its power. The ps3 still has a long road ahead of it.. and there are dozens and dozens of companies exclusive to the ps3.. as for the wii?.. well.. its a gamecube with cool controls.. do the math.Aikou_X
This had got to be the best response from a Cow. People still believe stuff like "PS3 is going to last 10 years", "PS3 has ony used 20% of its full pontential".....do you guys think those statements really matter when it comes to sellling?? also by the way, many PS3 exclusives were lost due to Ken Kutugari not been able to agree to deals with Devs....this is old news my friend, you need to update yourself, PS3 is not in green pastures anymore.

speak for yourself ms only had shipped 5 million 360s total by the end of june last year and there was no way that actually sold that many to consumers.

This year's increases in GaN-based blue semiconductor laser manufacturing capacity are making Sony confident of meeting its Playstation 3 sales targets, with the company expecting to ship 11 million consoles in the twelve months to April 2008.
Sony now makes 1.7 million blue lasers per month (see related stories), sufficient production for its console commitments, and plenty of Blu-ray players besides.
"Production problems have now ceased, we're in full production as far as Playstation 3 is concerned and there's a steady chain of supply in North America, Japan and Europe," said a spokesperson for the Computer Entertainment division of the Japanese corporation.
In its annual report, Sony said it sold 5.5 million Playstation 3 units in the fiscal year ended March 31 2007, despite having faced production yield problems for its blue semiconductor lasers that feature inside each machine.
Sony is convinced that the Playstation 3 will eventually match the wild success of the PS2, discounting competition from other console makers as a factor.
"We're aiming towards a much broader lifestyle for home entertainment enthusiasts, that's one of the reasons the Playstation 2 went on to sell over 115 million units worldwide," said a spokesperson.
In its annual report Sony says it expects to establish the same successful business model with the PS3 that it achieved with the PS2.
"Ultimately it will come down to content," explained the company's spokesman.
"What it offers for its price is exceptional value for money - a quarter of the cost of a PC of similar capability and about the same as a commercial Blu-ray player."

OK Im a HALF COW. LISTEN TO ME and you can check my previous post for proof that Im on SOny's side but even I must draw the line.
THERE'S NO PRODUCTION PROBLEMS
THERE'S A PRICE PROBLEM
No matter how many PSe's they have shipped or will ship its going to sit on shelves. They still haven't met the 5.5 million mark and its been how long? Sony needs a price drop.
