Took a break from watching football to take a look myself. Looks and performs exactly as it did before. If it did occur it isn't noticeable, graphically or performance-wise.
Seeing as how TC is the only source we have to even think it happened, I'm gonna call BS. But if anyone has a real source about it, please share.
I lol'd. But seriously, they're downgrading the already weak in-game XMB :? How would you know they downgraded it if you don't have a PS3. Do you believe anything you're told as long as it's in your favor? Oh so I don't have a ps3... Or maybe you just got offended by what I said so you're making ridiculous assumptions? I haven't played recently enough to get the update but it sure doesn't sound like they're catching up to XBL with this one.
edit: Looks like it could bs. I never said I noticed a downgrade in the first place though, because as I mentioned, I don't even have the update.

Update 3.50 wasn't created to catch up to XBL cause XBL doesn't have 3D support for Blu-ray movies... :?

ya know what makes me laugh? how the ps3 tells me i didn't turn it off the right way every time i turn it on.
see, it's not their fault that they can't make a system that can figure out wth happened when my powersaver strip turns off the system it's my fault for owning the powersaver strip.

True, but let's start with having the in-game XMB atleast begin to match what the full XMB has. Kinda like what MS is trying to accomplish with XBL.
they are probably trying to make more room for games, theres no need for a hi res xmb when your rival has extra memory for miniscule improvements in textures that everyone will examine online.
wow really.... you mean that XMB thats useless ? why would it mater if its sub HD while I'm playing a game. I did noticed yesterday that it was faster, while I went to quit the game. So the sub HD sounds like a good thing to me.

No it was not, and no it didn't "downgrade". Yes it was and still is, I haven't updated yet so I don't know if they changed anything. It's incredibly slow and a lot slower than 360's in game menu.
