[QUOTE="totallyplaying"]Wipeout HD + Fat Princess + LBP = epic win. Those who disagree haven't played the 3 games. And you can play flash games like left 4 dead (days2die) on it - http://digogames.com/view/29/Left-4-Dead---Free-Online-Versionvideogamesdead6failure LOL True
[QUOTE="wolverine4262"]I just bought burnout paradise on xbl...SiKh22you do know psn has had the game for a very long time now with the dlc orly? i phail.. can i change my answer?
*cough*. First of all look at this:
http://www.moddb.com/mods/zombie-master
Free Sourcemod with nearly the same gameplay mechanics as L4D.
Plus PC has L4D1 and will have L4D2.... The PC has by far the largest catalogue of freeware given it has access to mods.
The PC also has by far the greatest reach of custom content and the best online gameplay of any gaming platform. I think the TC forgot about the PC....
XBox Live is a racket as far as I'm concerned, but the sooner we pare down the platforms to 1.....PC....the better off the industry will be. No more software exclusives, no more closed platforms, no racketeering operations like Xbox Live Gold, and digital distribution....of ALL titles, as day 1 releases.
Although I don't think 3 games can make any service the best, PSN can compete with XBL, so it's good enough
crap=free...free=good.....crap=good? I love the transitive property...anyway, I understand that being free is a plus, but please dont use it to determine the quality of a product...Free = good.

Free on consoles=bad they eventually close down the master server for playstation titles. ps2's first online game tony hawk proskater 3 you cant play it anymore gamespy closed down the server. While xbox live's first or one of the first unreal championship 1# you can still play it online on the original xbox pisses me off dumbass microsoft still hasnt added backwards compatibility for that game on 360 yet. they did for uc2 which sucks compared to uc lol.Free = good.

Weak arguement. You just picked 3 games that are great in your opinion. It takes alot more than just three games to decide what better.
Downloadable games are not the benchmark for judging online multiplayer networks.... the important thing to compare is, you know, online multiplayer. Everything else is nice, but doesn't really factor into the "best online experience" arguement. Most people go online with their consoles to play their videogames online. Both the PS3 and 360 do that function in about the same way, and with about the same results.
i hope people understand that PSN & XBL are useless without good games which offer amazing online/multiplayer.. Probably when someone says PS3 is betteris just because he enjoyed playing more with PS3 exclusives online..
Personally i enjoyed more PS3 online not because i found PSN better than XBL but simply cause i spent more time online playing games such as Resistance 1&2 GT5p, Warhawk, SOCOM, LBP, KZ2+ Multiplats (COD4, BF:BC, FIFA 08 etc)...
On the other hand though if i didnt own a 360 i would have missed playing the likes of Geow 1&2, Forza2,Halo3, L4D etc etc

playstation network doesn't even come close to the level xbox live is on!
yea wipeout demo came with original ps1 on launch in 95. lol i dont think the game's evolved much since thenIs there a free trial for Wipeout HD? I want to check it out.

PS3 users get some knock off flash game while 360 users get the real deal. POWAH OF THE CELL shines through once again.

care to elaborate a bit more on that opinion?
I'd like to see the people that claim that XBL is so much better than PSN explain to me which groundbreaking features that XBL does have contrary to PSN make it so much better... Then I'd like to ask them if these ground breaking features are worth paying 50 bucks a year for.

You know that 360 fanboys will justify paying $50 more for XBl on a yearly basis and say its better cause it has cross-chat feature.. (which btw is not needed to play games ONLINE) its just a feature.. as for the rest XBL doesnt offer much more than PS3 and it doesnt even have a web browser...
On the other hand same 360 fanboys will argue that paying $100 - $150more (ONCE) for a PS3 is WAY TOO MUCH cause the extra features such as WiFI, autorechargeable controllers (via USB),Blu-ray, multimedia functions & more reliable hardware are useless.. $50 per year for a couple of extra features for XBL which are NOT essential for online gaming though is not a problem :) ironic isnt it??

That's exactly how I see it. Here on GS when it's said that XBL is superior to PSN everyone always seem to accept it. But I use both and I must say they're pretty much equal in my book.
Wipeout HD and Fat Princess are merely "okay", and LittleBigPlanet is similitude garbage. If that is the best online experience I can get now, I'll never bother with online play again.NBSRDan
luckily for you there are also games such as Resistance 2, Killzone2, Warhawk, SOCOM, Motorstorm, GT5p etc etc which all offer amazing online modes.. trust me PS3 has great games with online modes..
play a bit more LBP with friends or simply with people online and you'll realise how fun it can be :)

I don't understand where "crap" came from. I know you're not referring to the PSN, because it's far from it.

So that's your answer as to why XBL is supposedly so much superior to PSN? Great argument..one cannot give you a list of reasons why XBL is superior because its not.. XBL is a GREAT online service and has some features which PSN doesnt.. It has downloadable games & DLC which PSN doesnt... But same can be said for PSN, it has features which XBL doesnt offer, games & DLC available only via PSN etc etc..
Personally i find both services to be great but none of them outclasses the other... the only main difference is PSN = Free while XBL = $50 yearly..

As far as I can tell there is little to no difference between the 2. I haven't paid more than $30 for a 12 month subscription to Xbox Live since buying console in 2006. It's was easier for me to pay the fee over time than to put the extra money upfront in 1 purchase. I also love the Xbox 360 controller. So that's your answer as to why XBL is supposedly so much superior to PSN? Great argument..[QUOTE="NielsNL"]

Those 50 bucks a year probably have something to do with it though. People tend to defend anything they paid for more fiercely.

Exactly... i play often online on both consoles and i really dont see much of a difference.. I mean i also play a couple of multiplats (COD4 & FIFA2009) which i own on both and trust me both perform exactly the same...
Probably people mix the fun they get from playing certain games (ie. Halo3, Geow2, L4D, Forza2 etc) on 360 or (R2, KZ2, GT5p,Warhawk,Socom etc) on PS3 and from there they come to the conclusion that X service is better than Y.. when in reality its not a matter of which service is better but which games on said system(s) offer great multiplayer modes..
Cause surely one cannot determine which service is better based on DLC or Downloadable titles, cause those are a matter of tastes in gaming.. XBL may have 10 downloadable games which dont interest me so that would mean nothing (same applies for PS3)..
XBL & PSN's main use is PLAYING ONLINE, so we have to compare the performance of both and imo both perform equally in that department.. So thats why i find PSN better cause it performes equally to XBL in its MAIN use but does that for NO EXTRA COSTS..

Yup..To mealso PSN has the edge because the service is pretty much equal, but it's free.
