There was no point in owning a ps2 over a Xbox after '05. Sure it had a slim line and GOW2 coming soon, but it still wasn't any match for the xbox>CB4McGustoI just couldn't continue after this point.

[QUOTE="campzor"]there was NEVER a point in owning a xbox period.... spookykid143
There wasn't? Why was that?
Because of the PS2.Which was severely lacking in Western RPGs, unlike the X-Box: KoTOR, KoTOR II, Fable, Morrowind, Arx Fatalis, etc.
Which was clearly much poorer in Sci-Fi and Military Shooters than the X-Box: Doom 3&RoE, Vastly superior versions of everything with the name Tom Clancy, Half-Life 2, Halo, Halo 2, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, Unreal Championship 1&2, Chronicles of Riddick, Mech Assault 1&2, etc., etc.
Which was arguably poorer in Racing games than the X-Box: Project Gotham Racing 2, Forza Motorsport, Rallisport Challenge 1&2, SEGA Rally, mildly superior versions of most multi-plat racers
It was also missing the tightest controlling action game of all time in Ninja Gaiden, and unique gems like Jet Set Radio Future, Panzer Dragoon Orta, and Phantom Dust
I'm not saying the PS2 wasn't miles better, because it was. It had better and more action games, better and more fighting games, WAAYYY better and WAAAYYY more JRPGs, WAAAYYY better and WAAAAYYY more strategy RPGs, and it had better and more adventure games, it had better and more platformers, it had better and more rhythm and puzzle games, etc. But to me, especially if you were not a PC gamer, the X-Box carved out a clear and obvious niche.
No point owning PS2 after 2005?
1. God Of War
2. God Of War 2
3. Shadow of The Colossus
4. Bully
5. Final Fantasy XII (didn't like it, but many others did)
6. Kingdom Hearts II
7. MGS 3 Subsistence
8. Persona 3
9. Persona 4
[QUOTE="SecretPolice"]Brute Force as wellWhilst I'll agree with the premise, you have it a bit wrong concerning the XBOX launch games as I pretty much consider it the best launch ever especially for MS's first try in the VG market. :P
Halo CE
Project Gotham Racing
Dead or Alive 3
Ghost Recon
Amped
Fusion Frenzy.

Since when did the xbox launch in 2003?
not really. granted, not all these titles are going to be to your liking, but: - Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (also on PC, but I'm not sure if you're just referring to the main three gaming platforms or not. Crimson Skies, Strangers Wrath & Jade Empire :D
opinions & tastes in gaming, thats all i see..
for example my personal view on the matter is that PS2 > xbox by a considerable margin when it came to quantity & quality in games library..
PS3 & 360 are on par even though personally i prefare the PS3's exclusives games library..
I actually preferred the Xbox to the PS2 last gen. The only game i was jealous of the PS2 had was RE4 and even then i could play it on my cube :Pwalkingdreamlol exactly, but resi 4 was going to go on the xbox but didnt for some reason, i read awhile ago
[QUOTE="full_disclosure"]i think you're right. although, i'm no expert, but i think the ps3 is actually selling alright. don't think the xbox ever did that well.Well the PS3 selling like it has is crappy as far as expectations. The first xbox sold, I think like 25 million over it's life span. Which wasn't good either. But imo they r both great systems and I"ve had a blast on both systems. Still have the original xbox with like 30 games for it.Yea both sold crappy and both r great systems regardless!
