PS3 is more durable than X360, hardware and software-wise

Well I work in a video rental store called "Willow Video" in Langley, BC, Canada, and let me tell you, PS3 is way more durable.

When X360 first came out, my store got one and rented it out, but it got broken after 6 rentals. Then we got a PS3 a year later, and it's still working fine, dispite it's been rented 34 times already.

Now move on to the software. Every once in a while, somebody returned badly scratched X360 games, but for PS3, I haven't even encountered one yet. I checked every copy of Resistence, which is the most rented PS3 game, have not even one scratch (only fingerprints and smudges) on the disc.

So bottom line is, PS3 is more safe and stable than X360.

sony, actually, have made some of the crappiest products in recent years if you took the time to notice. How about 2 million cybershot cameras recaled after two years on the market, or ps2 slimline adapters exploding, or sony bravia tv's dying like flies?

I just wanted other to know that what he said wasn't a fact. Sometimes people tryto pass off their opinions as facts. PS3 has a great selection of games better than the Wii, and on par to the 360 IMO.

And ppl dont understand why the ps3 cost more, and that main reason is what the TC is talking about. I would rather spend my money on something that is reliable then a machine that u know is gonna fail on u in a year or so. The ps3 is the way to go and ppl just dont want to admit it, and I hate hearing ppl say but where are the games. Anyone who is stupid enough to believe that the ps3 is not gonna have a great lineup after a year after its launch is just a silly fanboy that doesnt own one, but knows damn well the ps3 will be a system to be reckoned wit once it starts dishing out big hits like MGS4, FF13, FF13 Versus, Killzone 2, Tekken 6, GT5, White Knight Story, GTA4, Infamous, God of War 3, and many many other titles. This is the sole reason I bought my ps3 is because it has technology that is still yet to be decided and only done on the PS3, and because I know the ps3 is reliable and because I have a True Next Gen Player in my PS3, and because my online expirience is free, and my number one reason is because I know the PS3 is gonna have some awesome games u cant play anywhere else but your PS3.

Sure! I had both and I can tell you the xbox was garbage! My PS2 worked perfectly while my xbox froze and stopped reading disks! If you owned an xbox and a PS2 and weren't a lemming you would know that!

How is the 360 below the PS3?

Its not software in which the 360 consistently has better rated games. Its not graphics because 360 at thos point has the best looking game and multiplats always look and run better on it... so what is it? Some of them break down? Did'nt think that mattered to cows during the PS2 days so whats thr problem now?

I was saying that this is all just someone else saying something that could be true or untrue. My 360 doesn't scartch my discs and has been working fine since launch

And judging people based on a sig makes you look bad, I suggest you knock it off, I was gaming before you were born and my first system wasn't an Xbox. If you had clue that Microsucks didn't give you, you would know Sony has a good rep on products and both PS systems worked great! I put 1000 hours plus over 4 years on my PS1 before it broke and it Didn't have a fan! And I may not own a PS3 but I have played it. Jeez... :roll:

That's not a software issue.

I agree though that PS3 is a more stable than the XBox360, but you're not really enlightening anybody here with that news. Not sure if you saw the news a few weeks back, but MS extended their warranty on the 360 because they know about the whole 3 rings of death thing. So thanks for telling us something we already knew.

Secondly I'm not a lemming, maybe a sheep, but not a lemming. I had a PS2 and an Xbox... my Xbox broke, I'll admit it. But you know what my Xbox had that my PS2 didn't? Good games. PS2 was basicly a MEtal Gear Solid 2 and Shadow of the Colossus machine (games you probably didn't play because you were too busy playing GTA 3 all day).

Also the PS2 had massive problems with disk read errors surpassing anything probelms the 360 has had. Sony Vaios (sp?) also have had extensive problems due to Sony's apparent lack of soldering knowledge. And I've played a PS3 too... you know what it is? Its just like a 360 except for the games are slightly worse looking and it costs another 200 bucks.

Well its the truth.. actually its not. I meant to say Metal Gear Solid 3 since I had MGS2 for a better system. Oh and I got to play a crappier version of San Andreas a little bit early.

The PS2 had the best games period and this is comming from an admitted lemming last gen because I picked the Xbox over the PS2 over time.

Also your claims are weak, I never had one disk read error from the PS2 while by Xbox stopped reading new games. I also played a PS3 and 360, you know what? They are the same except the PS3 doesn't break all the time. 360's biggest selling point is Halo 3 and I got sick of Halo afterthe second one was a letdown...Not that you ever played it.

or, people who rent the 360 actually play it a ton while they have it, and the people with the ps3 are excited to rent it but find out it sucks and stop playing shortly after, giving less time to damage it.

I'm a Sony guy. I'm I'll be the first to say that 360 CD's are more durable then PS3 BLuRay discs'. Its not the 360 cd's going bad on their own its the pos 360 laser ripping them up. But BluRay's because they hold so much information are thinnier then a normal DVD hence easier to damage then a dvd.

But yea the PS3 is MUCH more reliable.

PS3 > 360

DVD > BluRay in Durability.
