[QUOTE="mythrol"]How can you say the PS3 is the home of JRPG's whenever your list includes games for 2010 that are ALREADY RELEASED on the 360?finalstar2007
Yeah but they got extra content :D..:P
A year+ later. . . How are you enjoying Tales of Vesperia RIGHT NOW? Oh wait. . .nvm.[QUOTE="Master_Hermes"]
Half those games are also on 360 not to mention that the 360 has it's own exclusive JRPGs as well. I think, as far as JRPGs go, the two HD consoles are tied. 360 is the overall RPG console, though. However, with more and more WRPGs coming to PS3, the two may even out soon.
Also, Why ignore the Wii, the console is starting to get more RPG support from Japanese devs everyday. I think it's going to be the most RPG heavy Nintendo home console since SNES.

I wouldnt say half :P only 5 games out 19 are on 360 ( from my list btw) , way less than half but anwyays i neevr counted the wii.. i know it got more JRPG's and stuff but ahh its not really an HD system :P
Well 7, Cross Edge and Record of Agarest Waris coming to the 360 too. Which means Trinity Universe also may come to the 360, cross over games do not make that much money.
One big problem is how many of these games would make there way over to the US? Do they all have confrimed US lanuches?

Every game on his list is confirmed for the U.S. but Ar Tonelico 3, Tales Of Vesperia & Trinity Universe.
Cross Edge Dash for the 360 is not confirmed to be coming to the U.S. as NIS America did the PS3 version and are working on Atelier Rorona & The Last Rebellion for the PS3. After they hope to do Trinity Universe & Ar Tonelico 3 for the PS3.

Actually Cross Edge is only in Japan as NISA said their not going to locolize it to 360 ( its possible that another company might take the project but kinda doubt it ) so still exclusive, your right about Agrest wars tho. and yes every game i listed been confirmed to US except for:
ToV ( noting yet)
Tiniry Universe ( NISA said their looking into it but might start working on it after their done with the games they got now)

Ar tonelico 3 is 100% coming to NA, there is many rumors about ToV localization but nothing official and trinity universe got a high chance of being localized since NISA always do it.
The thing about the DS is that none of the RPGs are really up to par with the best of the HD consoles.

isnt there rumors legend of dragoon 2 is coming out? or is that false
reaver-x
sadly its only a rumor. But if that game were ever announced it would be a dream game
I don't get why people love that game so much, the combat is incredibly dull it basically forced you to defend until you could transform into a dragoon and if the enemy didn't died then just repeat said process The characters and story weren't all that great either[QUOTE="hakanakumono"]

Willful suspension of disbelief. By having better graphics and better sound, one is more likely to suspend their disbelief and become engrossed in the story. However, if there is a large disconnect between reality and the story, then one may not feel as drawn is as they otherwise may. This is readily apparent in Infinite Undiscovery. The game is otherwise a great game if you play it muted. However, the voices really throw you out of the experience and make it a bad game.[QUOTE="sanim02"]
Whatever happend to White Knight Chronicles? Wasn't it like a BIG JRPG from Sony?:?
.. Wait there's a part 2 coming out as well?! :?:?:?
Kashiwaba
The problem with WKC is that its taking over 1 year for them to localize it and that killed the hype I played the japanese version about 8~9 months ago it was amazing though I just played it for a few hours at friend house my first impression is 8~8.5/10 but since NA release date is after more than 1 year of the japanese release date expect the graphics to be very outdated, fighting gameplay was very good but the game needs to have monsters variation in monsters not just changing the colors of the monsters and make it stronger and about the story the beginning was amazing but still dont know about the rest.
Ahh sucks.
Oh well, Versus XIII then.

Not giving people the whole package and leaving the rest to the peoples imagination would allow observers to perceive it as more believable.
PS3 has good/great RPGs but it is lacking compared to the PS2. I dunno which system has the best RPGs this gen but all systems are lacking imo.abuabed
I do. It is obviously the Nintendo DS. Don't believe me click here.

Things on handhelds draw you too much out of the experience because of the HORRIBLE sound quality, the small screen, poor image, and lackluster ammount of content in most of these games due to limitations of the medium. Having crappier graphics isn't leaving it to the imagination; it is just poor quality.

There is a Trope made just for you and anyone else dazed by Hollywood. Reality Is Unrealistic
About that sound problem, one could use head phones or earphones to solve that problem. I hear Sony makes a good pair. In fact, I use a pair of Sony earphones.

none of the consoles this gen hold a candle to the ps2 when it comes to jrpgs. But if there had to be one...DS is the closest. There is a Trope made just for you and anyone else dazed by Hollywood. Burning-SludgeColor me unconvinced my a wiki entry. The fact of the matter is that horrible sound, horrible graphics, small screens, and fewer content make the experience far less engrossing than it may be on an HD console. Limitations of the medium.
It doesn't matter how good the headphones you're using are, there are limitations in the hardware for just how good the sound can actually be. The sound quality of a handheld is simply below that of an HD console, which can use far more advanced sound rendering techniques. Objectively speaking, the sound on the handheld is of generally lower quality.About that sound problem, one could use head phones or earphones to solve that problem. I hear Sony makes a good pair. In fact, I use a pair of Sony earphones.

I guess your right, I just looked at Tales of Vesperia under my wishlist on Gamespot, and for the release date it says "Dec 31, 2010." Really? Is it really gonna take them that long to dub the extra scenes? It's the only 360 exclusive I'm truly jealous of, I just know it'll be good because the Tales games are the best.

Why does the DS have T and M rated games on it as well as super hard games like Etrian Odyssey? Graphic quality is relative unless, of course, IT'S ALL BOUT TEH GRAFIX.

Anyways 2D sprites own in JRPGs, so I don't find the DS having "out of date graphics" a bad thing.
Speaking about DS JRPGs I got Izuna 2: The Unemployed Ninja Returns two days ago, good game.
