PS3 is the best console overall REASONS INSIDE

The ps3 has few good games now and its price is too high but lets check

Xbox 360 Elite 480$ with no HD DVD

Xbox Live for 4 years $200

Plus you have to pay to download game content (new maps , levels ,etc.)  

 $680 you get a unreliable console that can break anytime with no HD DVD , but with good games and online gaming

PS3 $600 with blu ray , free online gaming ,best graphic chip ,  reliable console with a 10 year life cycle plus all the great franchises that Sony has

The wii doesnt count because is a secondary console with nothing to offer to gamers but minigames and wiimote swinging

I think it all comes down to opinion man, plus i don't think people should add 1/2/3/n years of XBL fees to the price of the 360 cuz if thats the case then in order to get the most out of your ps3 then:

ps3=$600

HDMI cable= $30

HDTV= atleast $2000

thats 2630 dollars for the ps3, ya see where i'm goin?

I do agree with you on one thing, I think that the 360 isn't a reliable console that really might break down anytime judging from my friends and the contless topics regarding TEH 3 RED LIGHTZ O'DEATH!!!!!

Didn't have Live for a year, and still enjoyed the living HELL out of it. And there is a Silver version, you know? The free one? And again, the fact you used the Elite version of the 360 to make things seem mroe expensive is just sad.

*sigh* How is it you made it to nearly 700 posts without being banned? I've had my 360 for two years, and not one thing has happened to it. Also, the defect rate is around 5%, and I am guessing you are either blissfully unaware of the PS2's infamous DREs, or you just started gaming after your parents bought you a PS3. As a bonus, I do not believe Microsoft had lawsuits filed against them due to defective hardware ala Sony did.

Not everyone WANTS an HD-DVD or Blu-Ray player. He added all that soley to make the 360 expensive. That is obvious. Also, wasn't it that only 5% of households that have a telivion have an HD version? You don't need Live, the Elite, or an HD-DVD player to play games on the 360. You can get one for $400, and that is that.

Just shows you that games are the selling point, reason why PS3 is constantly getting outsold by 360 even with its hardware issues. Not because people want blu-ray or HDMI 1.3, but because they want the best games so they choose the best nextgen platform, X360 > Your logic & PS3.

5% defect rate?? haha its obvious that MS will not reveal real numbers , Judging from how many people have their 360s broken , I bet its WAY higher than 5%

Can you prove that? can you, honestly? Does the phrase 'the squeeky wheel gets all of the attention' mean anything to you? You are NOT going to see people making topics about how their 360 works perfectly. Only the ones who have had theirs' break will do such a thing. For every person who has a busted 360, there are more than 200 that have one that does work.

I know that you dont need Live to play games , but it is almost necessary if you want to enjoy your games to the fullest , just because today´s games are too short
