Not really. Korea is hermit land and none of the consoles are selling good.
is this real?Dreams-Visions
Its real but the ps3 is still hours away from launch. Im pretty sure he got this from Kotaku.com. Kotaku states that the ps3 still hasn't launch there when the pics were taken. Of course, topic creater didn't note that since he's just your typical fanboy.

perhaps not the biggest launch crowd I've seen only minutes before "launch". But really...who cares about a Korean platform launch? :|
This thread is a good example of why I hate System Wars. TrueReligion_

the obvious question--had you used any wit at all--was if you could or could not translate what was being said. sorry I didn't spell it out for you. thanks.

360 launch= More than 300 fans gathered at Yongsan CGV to celebrate the launch of Xbox 360 in Korea. There were 150 units of the Xbox 360 system prepared for the onsite special sale, and all of them were sold out in 30 minutes.
Proably cuz of that....that's proably alot less than 300..

there are between 200-250 chairs set up. it may be 30%-40% full. the quick math suggests something well under 100 people. certainly a cool reception for the successor to the most popular game console on earth.
I speak Korean. Sony is very popular in Korea. It's like a Japan, but to a lesser extent. Sad to see the turn out that low. Freaking SC2...Socrates88
their expectations were clearly low. again, only 250 or so chairs set up. I guess their expectations should have been even lower though :?
YAY!!! now maybe the PS3 can outsell the gameboy advance............well maybe...............never mind:oops:
 thats sooooo funny:lol:

In Korea they have what is call "Console rooms". Very very popular. Console rooms are like PC cafes in the states, but with console games. There is like one on every corner in Seoul. Also, Karaoke is the main source of entertainment there, not gaming.

ya but if you look at the 1st and 2nd pic you can see a blue rope so obviously they were not only expecting ALL the seats to fill up but also a pretty good size line aswell[QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"][QUOTE="Socrates88"]I speak Korean. Actually its reveresed. There is a Internet Cafe every 4 feet in Korea. I'm not sure where you got he concose, rooms from, as I've only seen about.. 5 of those on my yearly trips.
Nobody cares about any console there period. From the 500 people I know there, only 4 have a console. Everyone else Plays on the PC.
The Picture says absolutley nothing. No one cares about the PS3, Wii,or 360 there.

Actually, check out Hongdae, Young-san, Itaewon and Namjan the biggest area in Seoul and you will see console rooms there. No, I never said their were more than PC rooms. There are more PC rooms on a block than I can count. We Know Koreans have to get there daily dose of Lineage and SC.
Um notice the clock. Still an hour left before whatever people are sitting there for in the last picture. This is just stupid.Lazy_Boy88
less than an hour before launch it was still less than half full. let's be real: people who go to launch parties aren't gonna show up 5 minutes before the launch. the console (and maybe consoles in general) simply aren't real popular in Korea.

Sure.
But, besides your excuse...
Don't people learn their lesson from the European launch. I remember very well all those fun pictures of short lines and empty stores at the launch of the PS3 in Europe and every dumb fanboy and weak web site claimed the PS3 launch to be a flop with no solid numbers. Then what happens, the numbers come out and it turns out the PS3 broke records in its launch. People dont stand in line for a console that is guaranteed to be there the next day at anytime.Javy03
lol, don't expect that in Korea. Seriously. You know I'm a PS3 fan, so I woudn't stir you wrong on this. Korea is my second home.

Lets be real, nobody is gonna stand in line for the launch of the console just for fun when its guaranteed to be there the next day. People only skip class work and family to stand in a launch line because they are afraid that its gonna be sold out and the shipments wont come in for a while. These people are well aware that Europe had a big launch with plenty of PS3 and Sony is good for shipments. Why stand in line when you can get it anytime any store.
