[QUOTE="loco145"]After the last UI update the PSN store is very hard to navigate on my SDTV. Text is really small now.
Well, I was hearing a lot of good stuff about The Last Guy game, it sounds like the kind of strategy games I love. But I only could play the demo for like 2 minutes, very hard to figure out what was happening... Another PSN game that its nearly unplayable on my SDTV... Sony, you don't even include HD cables with your console!
Sorry, this is really pissing me off. BTW, i was underwhelmed by the SCIV demo.

fakeboy???
lol, i play on sdtv and its fine..its JUST like WII or XBOX360..yes i played ALL SYSTEMS on a SDTV and HDTV...
maybe you need to get ur eyes cheaked, because in last guy, once you beat the level the game is over..LIKE MOST DEMOS...
i honestly think ur a fakeboy..I mean the last guy example (psn exclusive) and the HD cables(ps3 problem which shouldnt even matter to you if you dont own a hdtv, but appearently you do)...i mean, cmon kid, your just asking for it now.
You surely have serious comprehesion problems.
[QUOTE="angelkimne"][QUOTE="dream431ca"]Because there ain't even THAT much of a difference, considering most games are only at 720p anyway.... its a huge difference's , everyone have their own opinion but this is not a case of it anymore. it's just a denial. Ok, here's a comparison....Why would you get a PS3 without a decent HDTV :?
That's like getting the 360 without getting Xbox live.

Are you really telling me the difference between 720p and 480p is worth 250 pounds ????
AngelKimme, still image's aren't what HD is about.
You need to go to Best Buy/Circuit City/Fry's Electronics, and check out HDTV's. Heck, just go out of your house and talk to someone knowledgeable that has a ton of Brands and 720p/1080i sets for you to see. They still exist, and you just are missing out.
You need to see moving images on a Genuine HDTV...I feel Like I'm educating my grandma on HDTV's (I had to do that last year, lol.). Seriously bro, check it out.
Still Images vs. Moving Images. Moving Images, That's where you see the Difference. That's where you see the "p" n 720p.
Just pointing the fact that they don't care much about us, SDTV owners, even when their console isn't HDTV ready out of the box...loco145
I play my 360 on my PC Monitor at 1440x900 sometimes and i can't see much of a difference. I've watched 1080p Vs. 720p Vs. 480p HD videos on the interwebz and can't see THAT much of a difference. I play on my friends 720p and 1080i TV's and still can't see that much of a difference. I go too TV stores and watch 480p and 1080p TV's side by side and still can't see that much of a differnce. I get HD screenshot comparison's and still can't see that ,much of a difference.AngelKimme, still image's aren't what HD is about.

I will get a HDTV, but only when terrestrial TV is actually broadcast in HD Resoloutions and games are always in 720p or above.
Until then I don't think it's worth it.

Okay, so why even have a color TV? Why even have a 360? you could technically be playing PSOne and possibly be happy. Why upgrade ever?
You want the latest tech on on side, but not the other.
However, if you don't see a difference, that's cool.
I can tell you that sometimes there hardly is a difference because of lazy devs. Take GUN for example. On 360 you essentially are playing the PS2/360 game in Widescreen. That's it.
You need to see a maxed out amazing broadcast, possibly a sports HD broadcast, or King Kong on HDDVD. There is a difference, in the right hands.
Not all TV shows are good just because they are on TV. Same with HD games, sometimes they are poor, it's all about the High Tier stuff, like Crisis.
But, you do have a monitor, so at least you tinkered around with it. You can't see it, then that's that.
I guess in the end, is there a difference? Well, it's all relative. I suppose in 20 years, people won't see a difference.

Put it this way. Sure, there are TVs, movies and video discs out there, but for some people there's nothing like a good book.

Because the comparison between the difference of a ps1 and ps3 versus a HD tv and SD tv is ludicrous.
I'm right there with you man. Navigating the PSN store is difficult, and some games just aren't as amazing as they would be if I had an HDTV.
For example, I finally got Lost Odyssey yesterday. Amazing looking game, but the menus have small text, and just the way the game is laid out shows it is meant for HD, not SD. I'm very close to dismissing what my parents are telling me and buying te 42" or 46" TV I want.

The differences aren't all that profound to me, and my vision's 20/15.Because not everyone is rich. Some people want to play the latest games on the latest console without having to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars. I play on a 26" sdtv, upgraded from my 21" sdtv. I'm going to get a 22-26" 720p hdtv sometime this year. But point is, some people still play on crappy sdtv's and still enjoy the games. Why would you get a PS3 without a decent HDTV :?

the fact is sony tvs come with hd cables as does basicly any hdtv so they really don't need to put them in since ps3 has hdmi

And if the cable is already used up? I know that when I bought a console two generations ago, it would come with all the possible connections I would need, just in case. What happened to that?[QUOTE="loco145"]After the last UI update the PSN store is very hard to navigate on my SDTV. Text is really small now.

Not unless you have to. HDTV is rather overrated.unfortunately both 360 and PS3 are made for HDTV. I started out playing my 360 on a SDTV and trying to read the text on dead rising was so bad I gave in and got a HDTV shortly after.FragTycoon
