The PS3 is indeed a great console but it's not the holy grail of gaming this generation like Sony would have people believe.

Oh yeah, why's that? Really, this era of consoles is the "hd era." This doesn't only come down to visuals, but audio as well. In this regard, the PS3 is often times the only console that gives this experience. High resolution games, along with high resolution audio. Those are facts. I'm not saying the 360 has no games/good looking games/etc, or the same for the wii, but that the PS3 is the sole console this gen that provides high fidelity across the board.

It absolutely deserves respect.

I certainly respect the PS3 as the closest thing to the succes of the Dreamcast in this gen(lost all the money they made on the ps2 because of the legendary PS3).It was such a hit for Sony that if they create something similiar to this phenomenal console next gen then we can certainly say good bye to the Playstation brand.If Sega had done something like the PS3 then they wouldnt only have gone out of the console business,they would have gone completely bankrupt as a company and died a disgraceful death.

I don't think many games use 1:1. Red Steel 2 doesn't, but there are 25 other games that support Motion+.

3) alot of those games were canceled

4) only about 101 of those xbox games actually have metacritic entries (while 109 of the PS3 ones have them), and of the ones that have metacritic entries only 17 of the xbox games have AA metascores (while the PS3 has 30). not the numbers you are saying.

5) alot of those games were only released in japan

next time do some actual research and verification before just regurgitating wiki lists that were never intended for that purpose

yep, going by metacritic the PS3 offers nearly twice as much games rated 80+ then the 360

After that i rented some short ones (GOW3, Heavy Rain) and i still have not bought any game on it until today, maybe will get 1-2 RPGs next year

Respect a complete absence of games i like ? Sony is now almost shooters only, for me they have lost all the appeal of PS1-2 days, with FF etc

Also they have lost MGS, Dark Souls, FF etc etc, they should have focused on keeping those exclusive than making other titles imo
