And yet, the WIi is selling faster... so how does THAT work?
Shortage.
Its in the article. Nintendo's own fault. Still, when they are more available, They will take over.
Of course, Sony just launched in Europe, and fanboys just don't understand that Wii and 360 have been out there for some time. Well, now its an even playing field.Â
The wii sold out faster due to limited supply......I'm not saying if nintendo is creating an artificial shortage or not........
But the PS3 sold more in the same time frame.
Good for the PS3! Europe/Oceania really helped them out. And as soon as white knight story, FFXIII, FFXIIIVS, KH3, shin megami tensai, and a possibility of dark cloud 3/rouge galaxy 2/new tales game/new star ocean.......will really help out japan.
And there are tons of games which will do well in america/europe/oceania (I'm not saying those jrpgs will do bad in these regions though) such as MGS4, ratchet and clank 5, heavenly sword, lair, ninja gaiden sigma, uncharted, warhawk, littlebigplanet and more.......god I can only imagine those sales.
Now....I wait until I get my PS3... (5-6-7, may, june, or july depending on when my family celebrates my birthday). That will also mark the time frame in which I sell my XBOX 360!
I wonder how this is going te get spinned into a bad thing. Lets see =)Eddie-VedderI don't know, just give it time, a fanboy will figure it out!
I wonder how this is going te get spinned into a bad thing. Lets see =)Eddie-Vedder
This coming contrary to the empty launch events and generally low consumer turnout................hmm do I believe media sources or my own eyes.VandalvideoSee, I knew it! Good job!
Well, when you stockpile PS3's for 5 months and make the public wait, it better be the fastest selling ever in Europe. If it had a global release in all 3 major continents, like the 360 and Wii, it would be very different. Regardless, they didn't even sell out! Too me, that is a failure. The 360 and Wii both sold out quickly. In this case, supply outweighed the demand, I suppose.

But do u relize its a PS3 siteÂ
So when Sony says that they sold an X amount of units, it means they actually sold that much, but when MS says that they sold an X amount of units, it means they shipped that much? I think I get it now! Baird-06
Â
Actually, Sony Shiped ONE MILLION, and They Sold 600,000.
Nice try, fanboy.
Â
600,000 launch PS3's = higher than launch Wii's and launch 360's in Europe. That's how it goes.

mainly because of its price.
So what? It still is the fastest selling. A console is a console, regardless of price.Do you think Wii will sell like what it does now if its $600 bucks?
[QUOTE="Hyper-Chicken"]:| Wii is the fastest selling console.NextGenNowNo it's not....:lol:
Six million units in under four months. The PS3 hasn't even done half of that.Â

It isn't an ouch. It's called strategy. Wii and 360 had shortages, sony did the opposite approach, as they couldn't play that game this time around.
Sony DID play that game with teh PS2. Wii and 360 took a page out of Sony's book for that one, but this time Sony sent more than enough, to catch up.
It's easy to sell out when you don't have enough, props to ANY COMPANY in the world for having supplies forme.
I guess Supermarket's are flops to you, since they almost never sell out.Â

it sad to claim ownage on a system for a system you don't even own. You are a 360 guy.Â

Criticizing one group of fanboy automatically make me a fanboy now? :? If someone can find the same enjoyment on a $250 console, of course the $600 won't sell as well.Without adding to the chain post above, Wii has sold approximately 5 million in 4 months. So even if PS3 has managed to sell 600,000 in EU, world wide it only sold just over 2 million in that same 4 months.
But now that PS3 is only now in all regions, lets see what Wii and PS3 sell in a total of 7 months, and then how they each sold in their 1st year so we can compare that to X360. Remember, there's a difference between launch excitement and long term market interest.Â

Well, If cows were claiming Sony sold 1 million, then I would be down. In this case, we know what was sold, and what was shipped.
In the 10 million 360 thing, M$ came out and said those were shipped. We couldn't have known that before, because Mircosoft was hush hush. The cows ran with that for ownage, sure, but they are different.
In the Europe case, we actually know Shipped AND sold.Â

Then why in places like Paris and London, the events there were called 'monumental failures'? I'm sure it was because everyone was lining up to buy a PS3. Did you see the pictures at the Eiffel Tower in Paris? The event was completely empty! Same with Australia and most of Europe. For the amount of supplies Sony had there, they should of easilty sold out, yet why do you see retailers with 70 PS3's still in stock? The salse numbers are good, but still, the demand just isn't there. Heck, here in Canada, they are trying to entice people to buy PS3's. In a local EB Games flyer, they want you to trade in 10 games (even last-gen games) and only pay $400 for a PS3. Retailers are desperate to get rid of PS3's everywhere because they aren't flying off the shelves, not like the Wii.

Failures? In London? I don't think so. Afterall they said it did the best in the UK then any other country in Europe. Also the PS3 at launch passed the sales of the Xbox 360 in Spain which took the Xbox 360 over a year to achieve.

I realize the PS3 isnt' doing that well, My point was that beating the competition is an accomplishment.
Sony could have shipped a Million and sold 150,000. That didn't happen.
Besides, in London? PS3's did super great in England.
Stop looking at lame pictures, the nUMBERS don't lie... Maybe the events flopped, but the unit didn't.

Your right, PS3 sites just as any sites suck.
Look at the facts.
Sony sold more in Europe at launch, 600,000, than Wii or 360 did at their Eurpean launch.
You don't need a site to show you that, the numbers are readily available.Â
