I found out about this on GOOGLE NEWS, so if you want, lots of legitimate sites already recognized this.

I don't read fansites either, but its on a ton of NON gaming sites as news too.

i'd trust a third party site over anything coming from the manufactureres themselves, especially with sales numbers

Well, when you stockpile PS3's for 5 months and make the public wait, it better be the fastest selling ever in Europe. If it had a global release in all 3 major continents, like the 360 and Wii, it would be very different. Regardless, they didn't even sell out! Too me, that is a failure. The 360 and Wii both sold out quickly. In this case, supply outweighed the demand, I suppose.

And that's due to supply. Nintnedo went worldwide when they said they would and Sony didn't. In Eurpoe, Wii and 360 both sold out where as the PS3 didn't. And why? Because Sony had 4 months of Japanese and American rejection to bolster it's European launch numbers.

However, Wii has more than doubled PS3 sales and done it in a shorter period of time. Therefore the Wii has been selling faster. If the title of the thread had said "Fastest Selling Launch Console in Eurpoean History" there wouldn't be much to debate. But the title is VERY misleading hence people are correcting it... and others are trying to combat those who are correcting it.

Wasn't there like, half a month - a month gap between NA, Japan and Europe, with NA first Europe last.
