While the network is down, Sony should just add cross game chat.

This is genious, but it probably won't happen.
I'd like a free PSX game, but I won't be angry if we don't get anything.

Not a PS3 only owner but I think maybe like a week of free PSN+ for everyone would be a nice way to say sorry. Frankly though I don't expect a thing, I just want it back up by the time CS2 comes out.Ace6301
Nah. PSN+ doesn't really do anything if you give it to people for a week, it only works if you subscribe for 3 months, or better yet just get the whole year. What are they going to do, give people PSN+ for a week let them download the games and full game trials, and then at the end of a week take it away?
I think the most practical thing for Sony is to just give everyone a free DLC game of some sort, for EVERYONE that has a PSN account, not just PSN+ members. Honestly if they just took some already released Sony game and did this, it reallly wouldn't cost them anything anyway, because old games probably don't generate a whole lot of revenues to begin with.
I wouldn't say no to free xenogears , but really nothing , Sony keeping PSN free is all I need

same here
None. Haven't used my PS3 since the whole debacle.
But those who have should get those days added onto their subscriptions.
We shouldn't get anything. Safer security of PSN is compensation enough. The only ones who deserve any kind of reimbursement are Playstation Plus owners, and all that should be is an extension of their month based on how many days the service was down. PS+ members don't need to worry anyway as I have a hunch that Sony temporarily shut down all PS+ subscriptions, so in a sense during this outage your subscription is cancelled, and once the service is back up, your month of PS+ will probably be reinstated.
I don't feel entitled to anything personally as I rarely use PSN, but a month of PSN+ would be nice and smart. If I was using my PS3 a lot I certainly wouldn't be happy about the current situation. So I can see the need for a little goodwill gift here.
How are you asking for reimbursement of something that's free? Reimbursement means to repay money spent or funds lost, we lost no money. PSN plus members on the other hand is a different story. They deserve some sort of compensation beyond an apology.deadesaYou paid for the games which are now functionally crippled. You paid for that game/content you bought but need to download. You paid for a console with online functionality.
I own two of the three systems and the PS3 is now my primary console, and not that I care but I'd take $10 or $20 PSN money deposited into the Wallet, or a free month of PS+
You paid for the games which are now functionally crippled. You paid for that game/content you bought but need to download. You paid for a console with online functionality. It isn't like PSN will never be back online, it will probably be back to working order in a matter of days, and it isn't like this downtime was planned. It just sounds like people are attempting to take advantage of the situation. Don't get mad at Sony, get mad at the hackers, demand reimbursement from them if you feel you have lost anything substantial. People who are not paying for PSN+ should just be taking this time to work on strengthning their patience, it is a virtue.McStrongfast
[QUOTE="Nuck81"]Nothing. **** Happens. It's pretty selfish and asinine to expect something free from a situation out of Sony's control. What I really want is all the pathetic computer hacker ***'s to get a life, or go to jail...enterawesomeAre you kidding me? I paid $50 for a year's subscription to PSN plus, they're literally robbing paying customers if they don't compensate. Their security should already be stable, it's not my fault they can't defend themselves from a bunch of idiots who were caught by the FBI in a day. And if people's account info is robbed? Man, Sony better be on their knees doing whatever the f*** the customer wants, cause they really owe it. "S*** happens" is NOT a reasonable excuse from any company, ever. While I agree that plus subscribers should get something, your response is a bit over the top. Going off about this as if they've robbed you of a months rent isn't going to help especially since you have no idea what really happened. There is no such thing as a fullproof system if someone is determined enough to get in.
Yes, their security SHOULD be stable and for most of the networks existence it has been.

It is over the top, just trying to make a point. It's really bad business if they don't compensate though, especially for Plus users. And if the account info is out there, I don't even know what they could do. Public apology, free PSN plus for everybody, who knows. Point is, they should compensate and it is NOT selfish to expect that, as our friend Nuck81 suggested. It's the funniest game related cartoon I've ever seen because the depiction of Kevin Butler is so accurate. Yes it was funny. But when you see it over and over it becomes not funny.[QUOTE="mrmusicman247"]You've posted this like 15 times already. It's not funny anymore.

they should get nothing... period. If sony wants to throw them something then fine, but they dont deserve an appology gift for something that is free to begin with.
TheEroica
Right. The only exception would be Plus subscribers.
If Sony decides to do anything for the regular users, it'll be a token gesture of good faith that may help with PR. Otherwise, regular users aren't entitled to anything.
