Ps2 had its best graphics after 6 years. Compare God of war 2 among others with what they released in the beginning.
I think it will take a few years before they can pull everything out of it. 360 is supposed be very developer friendly, I wonder if it will beat Gears graphics anytime soon (which are miles above anything else on both consoles). So no, we can't say which one is better just yet.
X360 has the game with the best graphics right now. Both systems have good games coming down the pipe. Both systems are going to have similar graphics for the life of the consoles, i think.
Playstation 3 is looking and performing better in some ways, the Xbox 360 is looking and performing better than others. It's the same old story from day one, so, no, the question will never really be answered.

Does it really matter? Gameplay is more important then graphics anyways. At this point, neither system has the edge. The games all look about equal. One isn't superior to the other. How the games play offline and online will be a better determining factor.
The PS3 wont be going miles ahead of the 360 in graphics (like sony stated), especially with only 256MB of RAM. But we will have to see if the "Cell" will have its potential shown.

I don't think there will be a big difference either, but you and I both know that the PS3 has 512MB of RAM, just in a different configuration.
depends what you're talking about. if you're talking about graphics overall as of right now, 360 takes it with gears of war. if you're talking about photorealism right now, ps3 takes it with motorstorm. in the future, i see it as both about the same with ps3 a little bit ahead as developers really start to tap into its power.
No major exclusives have come out for PS3 since the launch period. So the "YET" you are talking about could not have occured and won't until starting this fall when games actually come out. GeOW seems to be definitely surpassed by games like Lair, Heavenly Sword, and Uncharted. But of course Mass Effect beats out Gears in some areas (environments won't look to pretty just because of the vastness of the genre). 360/PS3 are very close but the top tier PS3 exclusives will look better than anything on 360 just because of the system stats alone.
