Just out of curiousity, what proof are you using to say the Wii have overtaken the 360 in WW sales?

It was more than 100,000 difference of 360 outselling PS3 on June, making the 360 outsell the PS3 worldwide, what do you think it will be on August? outselling by a small margin on one month worldwide will not make the ps3 catch up. Furthermore do you think western devs care about Japan figures? think about it, they have no market in Japan, fps, tps, most western games don't sell as well in Japan, so if 360 outsells ps3 in NA and EU, devs like Ubisoft, EA, Activision and pretty much most western devs will take notice.

It's like the exchange I witnessed yesterday in my local Gamestop:

GameStop Guy to customer: In two years, the PS3 will be the dominant system.

Customer: Uh, ok...I guess I'll buy one in two years.

And this is my pont....who cares how many sell in Japan or Europe or anywhere else, at least from my perspective. There is no doubt that on paper the PS3 is a great system with the potential to be great.....only problem is that there are pretty much no games that I want to play that don't also come on my 360 so there is no reason to buy one now.

Even the whole Blu-Ray issue is still up in the air now that two major studios jumped ship. In a year and a half or two years, I can see myself picking one up, but now...as far as I'm concerned Japan and Europe can have all they want...god knows what they are going to play on them though.

You forgot to add Europe. Yes, I had already said that the PS3 outsold the 360 worldwide in a previous post. This wasn't much of a shock to me. Those figures will probably be reversed for Aug though. I don't even want to speculate on what Sept will look like after Halo 3 gets released.

360 only sales well in america...now that's pathetic.. ps3 will get great games and will have publishers and developers of all regions fully suppor it while 360 will mainly get good games from western publishers...

XBox 360 is getting great games from all over the world, not just America. PS3 get the majority of their games from Japan. Their are Japanese developed games that we don't even see in Europe or USA. The 360 has been fully supported for a long time. More developers are jumping on board every year. Also the 360 is still beating the PS3 in US and Europe by very large margins. The only thing keep the PS3 close is the Japan market. If 360 actually sold decently in that region, it wouldn't even be close. Microsoft needs to bring out some appealing exclusive Korean MMORPG gameson the 360 and release it in the Asian market. I wonder how well XBox 360 would sell then?

Japan is the 3rd largest market though.

Japan is important, but not nearly as important as the USA (#1 market ) and Europe (#2 market), which the x360 is holding its own in those markets (if not better than the PS3). And it was never expected for the x360 to sell great in Japan.

The PS3 may come out on top of the x360 in the end (I think it's very possible), but not without losing a ton of marketshare the PS2 had. That is MS' goal this gen: To take a large chunk of Sony's marketshare.

lol, lems in denial. Just face it, ps3 is beating the 360 and then wii is beating the ps3. when september comes it might be different stories though, but that's one month left for those sales numbers. That day, that sorrow. But for now, stop trying to spin it by saying the 360 is still beating the ps3.

Fact: No one expected PS3 to fail yet again in America. You for instance were expecting to dance in the streets this month because of the NPD numbers. Don't try to deny it.

Fact: The PS3 is being out sold 3 to 1 by the Wii.

Fact: At the current sales rates you posted, the PS3 will catch up to the X360 in 8 years. Of course it will be a bazillion units behind the Wii by then. Think about that.

Ownage is being served because no one predicted that X360 would eek out another win in America for the month of July. What happened to the uber increase in PS3 sales? It would appear the increase lasted a whole 2 weeks or so, since Sony themselves said they were up 135% in the first two weeks, yet they only netted out up approx 100% for the whole month. That implies a blip and a fall. August does not look good for Sony again.

This entire thread is pathetic. The original poster put together US, CA & Japan in order to give his beloved PS3 a slight edge over the 360 in the month of July....

...Leaving out Australia, Europe, India, Korea, etc.

You can't claim that the PS3 is leading worldwide sales unless you include the sales to the whole world Einstein.

Other than Spain, the PS3 doesn't routinely beat the 360 in Europe.

It isn't beating it in Australia.

It isn't beating it in India.
