PS3 owner here and the future looks grim....

1 exclusive irem game and not to mention 1 exclusive konami game, they look great, but my game of the year contender is 11 ps3 games at tgs or the secret sony game.

The 360 controller is fine, but I wouldn't say its the preferred choice. The dpad is lousy and Microsoft is thinking about redisigning it. But it is all a matter of personal choice.

Lets look at upcoming system sellers. Realistically, in order to close the lead it needs about 6 major exclusives (judging by 1 million consoles sold per major exclusive released - a relatively good figure, I'm sure we can all agree).

Resistance 2, LitleBigPlanet and Motorstorm: Pacific Rift all match evenly with the 360s lineup (supposedly, the Ps3 lineup looks stronger to me, but whatever)

Thus, we need 6 major exclusives in 2009 to be sitting pretty.

First major exclusive - Killzone 2, released Febuary 2009. Guerilla seem to have learnt their lesson, and the game seems to actively be in a position to be a major FPS. The multiplayer also looks suh-WEEET.

2nd major exclusive- inFAMOUS, released March 1st. The active Karma system and the realistic response from the NPCs, as well as the cool ass movement and powers make it a system seller.

3rd major exclusive - White Knight Chronicles. The Action RPG format seems rather underdone in the action part, but this one actively seems to have a quite good combat system. And the ability to become a giant White Knight and kick the crap out of Ogres makes it a good looker.

4th major exclusive - Heavy Rain. This thing isn't even a game, its a fully interactive piece of art - a lovingly flowing and masterful piece. Its a game where death doesn't mean game over.

5th Major exclusive - Gran Turismo 5. The Gran Turismo series has always been the innacle of the racing genre, and this one promises to be no different. Its also got photorealistic graphics, baby.

6th Major Exclusive - Massive Action Game. A level of epic scale mixed precision of human intelligence behind each unit gives you an awesome game.

7th Major Exclusive - Tekken 6. Tekken is still king of the fighter games. Nothing has changed there.

8th major exlusive (poosibly 2009) - God Of War III. I don't even need to say why this is a garunteed system seller.

Theres probably more but thats off the top of my head. To be honest, the PS3 and 360 both have an epic launch ahead of them, unfortunately that can't be said for the Wii. Looks like the same games being cranked out year after year. I'm sure there is a thread on this forum stating that Wii has an awesome line-up for 2009 and even better DS line-up, I think comparing the PS3 and Wii is non-exsistant since the Wii has obliterated the console market.

There would be many more sales, hey I don't even own a Wii, I might buy one soon enough which is another sale.

Gran Turismo 5 and Tekken 6, which will prob be good games, nothing new I would say.

Xbox had Halo 1 and 2 and for the new 360 they developed Gears of War, they need a more vast amount of orginal games

Okay, still doesn't any sense. For the PS2 there was Jak and Daxter now there is Uncharted, I could give that example several times. Not to mention completely NEW games coming out that stand out from anything else like Heavy Rain and Little Big Planet. Both consoles have good games coming out, why can't you just accept that, and while you're at it accept that your argument is incredibly flawed.

Home has little to do with Xbox live, it's just a application, a game even.

An MMO will nto make PSN better then Xbox Live, it just simply means you have somthing else to play with

well lets see here..

this year the sales of ps3 DRAMATICALLY INCREASED....its not slowing any, its just that sales cut of xbox caused it to spike...lets see what that LBP bundle does for the PS3 at Christmas.

Updates: i mean you get a new store (with game sharing :P), ingame xmb, some games music support, trophies (pretty much every new game has it and old ones being patched), life with playstation (which i find to be awsome). And hopefully home arrives home this year.

Games: i mean its pretty strong lineup bro just look at future releases.

What is really going to hurt Sony in sales is the middle and lower classes having no money this holiday season. With the market crash and unemployment rates, a majority of the US will not be spending that much money on a game console. People are losing a ton of money and the future does not look bright.

The future looks better than ever. The PS3 is looking great. Fantastic line-up of games, great and free online, better and more reliable hardware. Nothing beats that.

PS3 won't slow down. The 360 doesn't have the same 2009 as the PS3, in fact I really don't know any games coming out for the 360 in '09.MasteRich
